We FOUND an ABANDONED NEIGHBORHOOD and Decided to TRANSFORM EVERY YARD for FREE! 😯

Hey we are the Blessing Boys and we are excited for you to join us on this yard transformation today! We actually found an entire street of abandoned houses and we want to clean them up one by one. The neighbor said no one has lived here for 3 years or so that she knows of. We are working today on house "NUMBER 2" on this road today and the boys have a lot of weed eating to do on this front ditch are. While they tackle that Im going to mow this tall grass in the front and we will work our way around to the back yard together and try to give this place life again! We caught the attention of a visitor who stopped and asked if we were selling the house so we must be doing a good job. Hopefully we can get more info on these homes and figure out what exactly is going on. Either way we want to bless this community by making it shine. Thanks! Sometimes due to the camera angle it looks as if they are closer than they actually are. I mowed an entire strip by the road so the boys never actually come to close to it. 👍

@Blessing Boys even for you while there next to the road. My 8 year old nephew was just waiting for the bus in his driveway about 5 feet off the road. A distracted driver ended up hitting him. This was prior to cell phones.

It is curious that a whole street would have abandoned houses on it. That’s usually because they had to vacate due to a crisis or public danger, such as bad water.

I wonder if it was a community of aging people who retired or passed away. The houses don’t look particularly neglected or derelict on the outside. If you find out let us know. It’s an interesting situation.

The boys proved themselves well capable of doing serious weed eating. That ditch was a sizable project to clear out. I sure hope your work promotes enough interest in people wanting to renovate these homes to where they are livable again. Oh I say this too it scares me to death watching them, it doesnt even appear that they are watching the road but Im sure they are but because its on fast forward we dont see it. I would also like to see them wearing safety glasses, gloves, long pants - I saw a friend helping in another video wearing shorts and cutting the grass with a weed cutter aarrgghh...., I also dont like how Justin & the older boy mow the lawns together they appear to nearly collide sometimes...sorry Justin. Very curious as to what the story is behind so many abandoned homes in one area. Maybe they were bought up by a developer to rebuild new more expensive homes. The back story would be very interesting. You all did a great job. As always. Enjoy the Holidays and Merry Christmas.

Thank you and Merry Christmas. I looked up the owners and it does look. It might be a private developer, but they were purchased over 20 years ago. So I’m not certain why all of a sudden they went abandoned.

Probably because they didn't want to do up keep and up grades so it's easier to vacate them and use as a write off

Yeah that’s very sad these look like very structurally sound homes that will just rot if they’re not heated and maintained. Sad because it brings down that area and could provide homes for people that would want them.Thank you for what you do I was wondering whether they were taken by eminent domain or if there’s an estate and the people are out of state and don’t want to deal with the real estate issues

If they were bought by a developer they should be given a time frame for construction. If they were bought through the city at a prime discount, again these properties should be top priority. Homes should be ready for move in within 6 months to a year.

Maybe you could get one of these houses cheap...so many houses appear to be empty in the States, dont you have a housing crisis we sure do in Australia...rentals especially are so hard to come by these days...like about 50 people turn up for every open house viewing and buying a house is just as bad...

I looked up the owners and it looks like it might be owned by a private developer, but they were purchased over 20 years ago. So I’m not certain why all of a sudden they went abandoned like this.

This is very Interesting. Why would an entire block of good looking brick homes with a LOT of land become a 👻 ghost town? (Unless the city bought their homes to expand the highway behind. ) You can check the county auditor site, I think.

It's His Turf and Fall River had combined to do a home once and ended up deciding to do the front yards and lost sidewalks of a whole side of city block. By the end, the people were coming out of their homes to help. This is a great project. The boys Trimming is looking clean. 21:08, fun seeing the landscaping re-appearing along the house front. Enjoyed the before and after photos. Nice work all.

It would be interesting to find out why so many houses have been abandoned. Does the neighbor that told you the homes have been abandoned for about 3 years have any more info? Was it due to an environmental issue, hazardous waste on the property, rezoning on the part of the city or county, a developer buying the property to put in a development........ OR maybe there was a small Zombie Apocalypse where the people got eaten alive (LOL). Awesome work on the clean up.

I haven’t found out why they are abandon yet. I thought it first maybe the city purchased them. But when I look up the records, it shows that they are actually owned privately. The person lives about three hours from me. There is an address of a business, but no other contact info.
