After escaping Ravenholm, Gordon Freeman arrives at Shorepoint, a major Resistance base which was housing the Scout Car. In order to reach Nova Prospekt sooner, Gordon was given the Scout Car to take on his journey, with the permission of Leon, the base's leader. The Scout Car proved to be a very valuable vehicle for Gordon as he traveled along the coasts of Highway 17, and without it he most likely would not have made it in time. The last time Gordon saw the Scout Car was when a Dropship carried it away after the Combine overwhelmed Lighthouse Point.

Half-Life 2 Game summary -: Gordon is "awakened" by the GMan from what seems like a dark slumber. Years have passed. Turns out, the event at Black Mesa actually started a complete alien invasion through warpholes all over the world. The world's governments fell almost instantly. The aliens are known as The Combine. They are a huge group of (probably) different species who run the world with an iron fist. Gordon's old boss from Black Mesa is now the human ruler of earth, but he does what the Combine tells him to. He tells everyone that the combine have come to make us part of their hyper advanced society, but their tactics are brutal and cruel. Some of the scientists from Black Mesa and other places have started to research a way to fight back, and Gordon's arrival is seen as a sign that they might have a chance. Gordon and Co fight the combine and eventually a full scale rebellion starts. Gordon and Alyx (female protagonist) infiltrate the main Combine base and eventually destroy it. Right at that moment, the GMan appears, freezes time, and tells Gordon he is needed elsewhere.
