My experience is that the Uber Eats system does not allow address changes or cancelations after the order, even if it's done within seconds. All communication systems in this regard are ignored by Uber and their staff once your order is placed. Also, I ordered the cheapest ride but experienced a "no-show" or drivers canceling, later, I tried a more expensive one regardless of the reason provided, and suddenly, all problems were fixed. Very dangerous situation, especially at night at the airport. With no competition and a service much needed, Uber is the best we have available in South Africa. There is however much room for improvement in the system to rule out these problems.

I have also had this with the cheaper Uber rides. The issue is that the drivers don’t get paid a lot. And the cheaper rides that Uber makes available are often not worth them doing. They work hard and the remuneration is not a lot. So normally better to order UberX or above.
