7:58 She may have felt differently about that situation if SHE were the woman who got robbed at gunpoint. Everyone makes mistakes and people change and grow up. But it's disrespectful to the victim and it's not the truth when you minimize a crime because it makes you feel better. He served his time and he learned from his mistake. That's all you need to say. But to minimize his crime just devalues your own morals. Eyes wide shut.

I've done this...twice. I've had her same thoughts. But she doesn't realize these guys are institutionalized. It's different when he has only one female to talk to and is stuck in prison. When they get out, they often struggle with pTSD and it's hard to stay away from the street life they are so used to. My ex was sober and did well for three years but then relapsed on drugs and lost everything and went back to hustling and is now looking at going back to prison on his third strike. Current bf doesn't know how to live a normal life and struggles with pTSD and night terrors. They do deserve love but after the honeymoon period reality sucks. Also, remember these people didn't just steal one car or assault one person and get locked up in prison. They lived criminal lifestyles and it caught up with them. A lot of them were in gangs. My ex actually told me it's common for men in prison to seek out female pen pals to send them money or commissary. And for those who are getting released soon they seek out women to parole to their address. It's just an innocent love story. Generally if someone will make bad decisions enough to get locked up they aren't going to change. Some do. But if they weren't messed up when they went in they definitely are traumatized coming out.

If u have children & ur priority is trying to get to know a convict then ur priorities are fked up and u should not be a parent. Jeopardizing yourself is one thing but gambling ur child's life is another! I knew 4 people who were pen pals with men in prison and one actually got married to someone who served 15 years in prison for murder🙄 They all ended with the men messing around and being taken care of by the woman. Then they would complain about what the men would put them through 🙄 sorry I didn't sympathize or feel bad. Ur grown and knew better. Aggravated assault is bad but there’s innocent people who got frames or falsely accused, people struggling with addiction due to mental health and other non violent crimes. I wouldn’t trust anyone who was in for aggravated assault but my point still stands. Not everyone in prison is a bad person. Also cops should *never* handle someone with PTSD. They have zero training for that and they make the situation more dangerous. I would never attack anyone but if I cop was hurting me I’d have an episode and my brain would switch into survival mode. The situation would go from no danger to literally everyone being in danger just because cops lack training for mental health and PTSD Edit: last part is mostly off topic but I need to get that vent out somewhere

Actually they can check in USA if they were child predators. I also believe you can check what actual crime was.

Mom is setting the example for her daughter that she should look for men in prison to find love. To down grade herself.just cuz they might be cute doesn't mean they are good guys. Amazing parenting mom🙄 what a way to put ur poor kid in danger cuz u didn't even know him

I mean, theyre HOT. I get the appeal. But maybe choose someone else as a life partner. Or get to know them AFTER they get out, and then proceed with a relationship.

One would think that she would hook up with a guy that has a future... Whose life isn't hampered by a criminal record. Hopefully, she isn't caught up with some violent maniac but if she's committing it to making it work, then best of luck.

Can't these women penpal with anyone who served 6 months for writing bad checks or used their mother's credit card without permission? They are clearly attracted to gangster like guys but you also get the issues that come with it.

Personally, when they finish their time then they have done their punishment. It is not right to keep punishing them. Now if they keep doing wrong and keep bouncing back and forth between jail/prison and outside then we need to find out what else is going on mentally or whatever. I do also think that some people can't be "reformed" but i want to at least try.
@kezzokav59052 жыл бұрын
'Trying' means that sometimes innocent children and adults will get abused and/or murdered. Some people can never be rehabilitated and that's okay.

Sometimes I think I pick bad guys because of my low self esteem and then I watch these videos and I’m like welp could be worse.
@Huia197510 ай бұрын
Maybe you have low self-esteem for reason but that doesn't mean every woman married to an inmate has low self-esteem. That's your story. You'll have shitty relationships wherever they are so good luck & find a good therapist.

Some people are romanticizing criminals...it blows my mind. Its one thing commiting a crime after dating, but to intentionally look for them through penpals or whatever? Also how can you trust anyone just by writing/ calls/ texting? You never know their true personalities until you meet and be with them. Yet, here they are saying 'He's different'

I married a man IN a prison. I could write a book on why this is not a good idea. For real. This is NOT about judgment for the person, ppl who are in prison, or even necessarily what they did. I'm telling you on everything...walk away. With a loving heart, no hate, just don't...

15:02 I'm not saying that what he did was right and that he didn't deserve a sentence. On the contrary. But also wow... Other people do unspeakable things like rapes or tortures and then murders and they might even get away with less than a ten year sentence metaphorically speaking.
