A second episode of the same playthrough in one day! I'm seeing how the algorithm might treat having a second episode to watch in the same day when a series first gets started. KZbin seems to prefer two 30 minute videos over an hour long video. After this episode it should be one a day of this series consistently, until I just can't manage it if the turn times just get too long and the playtime rapidly increases.

Watching the series when I can, while playing my own playthrough of the '94 version. Like the commentary (you do a good job of explaining things & your choices) as I never played the civ4 version or the mods for it.

You asked about video format and edits. I enjoy the series as I watch through the whole thing but I’d totally encourage you to experiment at least on your end. You may find a style you prefer.

I don't want to get too political but considering Russia's genocidal war in Ukraine, I'd be really careful and explicit when covering anything Russia related. I know it's a game that has nothing to do with the current events (although the Russian attack in Ukraine is in considerable way motivated by imperialistic and colonial aspirations), but when dealing with anything related to Russia, I'd at least make my own stance on the matter known. For people living in Ukraine and in Eastern Europe/countries close to Russia, this is a very delicate matter. Anything that could be interpreted as promoting and normalizing contemporary Russian state and people that support the Russian state, can be felt as something harmulf and insulting. I like your videos and am in no way accusing you of supporting Russia (and understand that you wish to keep your channel apolitical), but I also think that in current political climate, it is extremely important to be open and transparent of one's intentions. Thank you and I hope you understand 😊

I picked Russia since I felt they were the weakest, but I did notice that potential connection after working on naming the first video and then this one as well of course. Now I just figure the title is making fun of the free real estate meme, colonialism, and Russia as well.

I’d fully disagree with this warning. Not because I like Russia as is in modern times but because the worst possible thing the gaming world could do is get woke and worried about things like this in a game. If people want to not watch because it’s “colonialism” or it’s the evil English or Russians that’s up to them. Every time a content creator chooses to fear fools backlash for things like that, the entire gaming community looses in the long run. I for one don’t want that in my gaming experience any more then it already is. Dyllin is even legit worried that people have programmed youtube to sensor him if he uses the proper name of a grain whose name is older than the nation he lives in …

@@ClanHawkins I agree with you to a point. However, since when is opposing wars or despotic regimes considered to be exclusively woke? I was not alleging that Colonization shouldn't be played/streamed because of its name or theme, I was bringing up the problematic nature of highlighting Russia in a positive light in these times and in context of historical phenomenon that can also be attributed to Russian actions in Ukraine today. It is not about being woke or cancelling anything, but it is about the need to make one's intentions as a content creator clear with an issue that is both acute and terrifying. With his reply, I think Dyllin did just that 🙂
