I can confirm there is something in that box! It took me 17.5 hours to find all six notes. The notes are randomly placed throughout all three islands (only on the beach). The other notes and things can be found all over. In addition, look for the wrecked submarine for the radio tower manual. I won't tell you where it is, but it's all connected. It's totally worth it. Beware of sharks.

it's also a webspider, which many people dont fear as much as spiders who are "travelling", such as the wolfspider for exmaple. I hate webspiders alot more, since u won't see there nets all the time when u walk by. The others are just terribly fast and look terrifying somwhere at a wall, but i kinda prefere most of the "hunting" type of spiders:)

Fooster, on the off chance that you might see this, I wanted to say that I absolutely love your narrations of the letters/journal pages. Also, I have to give props to the development team re: Lt Logan's stuff. When I saw the remains of his plane, I immediately thought, "That looks like one of the planes Grandpa worked on." He enlisted in the Navy after Pearl Harbor and ended up being stationed in Hawaii as an aircraft mechanic. The thing is, I incorrectly assumed that I was wrong because I figured they wouldn't take the time to actually introduce multiple different storylines. Needless to say, when you started reading Lt Logan's note, I was as shocked as I was pleased. To be fair, there are a couple of things related to the plane that I hope they'll tweak. The letter, in regards to proper historical phrasing, was on point, save one sentence. I'm so impressed at their work so far that I may even contact them, volunteer to give their history stuff a glance/send some images I have that my Grandpa took of the planes in Hawaii. tl;dr I'm glad you returned to this game again because I never would have realized that this stuff had been added, nor would I have seen how many improvements they have made.

Instead of hopping back to main island, you should build simple shelter and beds on each island. Its much more better than shuttling back and forth to each islands.

@@VeritySnatch wolf spiders are native, but are just one of 3 species of giant (up to 14cm) house spider we have. Fun. But no need to worry about the giant black scorpions with large claws. You can actually eat those whole (knowledge courtesy of I’m a celebrity get me out of here). Only worry about a scorpion if it has tiny pincers. Those can kill.

@@delphicdescant yep, wolf spiders are just far too big for comfort. It’s strange, I can hold a tarantula or longlegs no problem, but not a wolf spider. They’re the one thing that creeps me out in this country. Even though with the exception of things with anaphylactic shock potential, adders are about the only thing in this country with truly harmful venom. Glad that you’re putting that out there for people who don’t know, though! 👍

They’re harmless. Unlike in games they don’t aggressively attack humans, they’ll avoid humans and only bite if threatened or if you inadvertently hurt them (like sitting on one).

Not wolf spiders, but make sure you clean all your cupboards. I learned the hard way after I found two giant house spiders in a week. And I’m talking over 10cm in diameter (like a tarantula. There are more of them lately. The largest I saw until then was about twice the size of a 2p. Btw, I also saw one in Lancaster not long ago. Fun. The North isn’t safe either.

At each new island you should gather the metal barrels and tires and make raft extensions from it. Then you can deconstruct at home base for easy transport of barrels.

You used to be able to, but the Devs removed it on this version. I think Fooster is playing Beta Version 0.0.36 or 0.0.37. They plan to bring storage boxes back. I'm not sure what it's going to look like when the Early Access version is going to get released September 23rd.

Fern plants always remind me of Jurassic Park very prehistoric, I love them. Good tips for when I start playing (this isn't available for console yet). You can also put a sail facing the opposite direction of the other sail and back straight out, you've probably already done it but just in case. In the usa, wolf spiders are the ones that make those little flat webs in the grass with a tunnel in one corner. The webs aren't sticky. The wolf spider sits in the tunnel and when it feels vibration on the web it attacks. Fun fact, if two female wolf spiders with babies meet, the babies ride on mom's back, all the babies climb off. The moms fight to the death. All the babies crawl on the winner and off they go on their merry way. 😁

@@savednorwegian Exactly, what the hell is with that behavior? No spider would chase you from afar as if you were a snack. They would totally ignore you unless you came within like half a meter of them, and then if not cornered they would try to run away rather than attack. It's ridiculous and breaks the immersion a bit. Black widows are web weavers - they don't chase their prey at all.

To be fair wolf spiders aren't that bad, neither are the giant house spiders. We get plenty of them around here and they never really bite unless they're severely distressed. If you were to grab them with your hand and throw them around they'd probably bite due to the spider panicking. They look very scary but are actually fairly intelligent and therefore docile :3 Still though, I absolutely understand being scared of them. I'm terrified of spiders but I'm also happy to catch and take them out of the house whenever needed, same goes for other bugs including stink bugs etc.

I call BS on the spider mechanics. Spiders aren't suicidal. Wolf spiders don't charge like that. And Black Widows aren't hunters. They just build webs in dark corners, or in other "hidden" places. So if the Devs want to include them, then it should be in a more realistic fashion. Another thing...I know the game wants a collection element. But who would record a diary and then spread it around an island they were stranded on? No one. That takes me out of the role play aspect of a stranded person.

Listen, I've had two abnormal encounters with both spiders you mentioned. The first being a kid in Germany getting chased out of the bathroom by a wolf spider. I will never forget it because I had to go number 2 and ended up doing that in the neighbors yard. I can never live it down even though I was only 9 or 10. The second was finding a black widow while in Arizona that had recently made its web by the cooking utensils. Definitely not a hidden place or low traffic area. Almost touched the dang thing by accident and nearly made my heart jump out my chest as I barely noticed the red hourglass in time. They were abnormal encounters, but not impossible. As for the diary thing I got nothing on that critique.

Agree, many wrongs here. I don’t see how metal items and sheets would float to a beach. To find one note in a bottle is virtually impossible but to find more? Canons and vehicles on small island why and how? Oh, and the ability to see clearly under water without any googles. Right.

Was kinda hoping this series would be 8-10 videos long. the first video started off slow but this video is fast paced. i understand the process in the game isn’t linear, it’s exponential and it’s what to be expected from a survival game. nonetheless the story has my interest. i don’t expect him to record all the small and tedious stuff. i’ll still he happy if this series is 4-5 videos long. i just hope the next isn’t the last. this game is relaxing which is ironic considering it’s a game about survival not a ASMR video lol.

A cool mechanic would be initial hunting didn’t yield much resources. Once you level up by hunting each animal multiple times, you are able to harvest more resources. Each animal hunting skill will be leveled up individually.
