Thanks for being so honest about your traveling funds. A lot of YT just dance around the question and not very honest about it. You guys are great and we appreciate that you're being "real" with everyone and basically you guys planned for about 3 years and saved "X" amount of money and calculated how long it will last to travel for about a year in Thailand. Keep these videos coming!! I'm obssessed.

Hi there, as a Thai, I have some suggestions. So if you would like to check out more islands and beaches, you gotta hurry up because the high season (I means dry season) for travelling the Andaman sea will end around the second week of May. From May onwards till November, there will be a rainy season. So you will get hit by monsoon quite often. Although there is definitely some sunny days, the sea will not gonna be calm. Current is quite strong with a big wave, and the beach is not pristine as in a high season. Conversely, islands in Thai gulf like Koh-Samui, will not gonna be affected by the monsoon season. It is rather the best time to travelling Koh-Samui. For the rest of dry season, I would recommend Similan marine national park. This group of islands has a very clear blue water. For freediving, the best place I encourage you to go is Ao-Suthep at Surin marine national park. There is a freediving tour with awesome people, you can check that out. Some island in Trang also one of my favourite like Koh-Kradan, Koh Muk, Koh Haa, Koh Rog, and Koh Ngai. These islands are underrated by tourist, hence more laid back and less packed. Lastly is Koh-Lipe in Satun province. This island has a pretty soft coral where you can snorkelling instead of scuba. However, the island is becoming now popular among Thai and foreign tourists. So it might get crowded. By the way, the second week of April 13-15 is a Thai New year or as known in Thai as Songkran festival or water fest. So I recommend you to check it out. The most famous spot is Chiangmai (more Lana tradition), while at Bangkok is more modern vibe. For travelling to other neighbouring SEA countries, I would suggest for Indonesia like Bali (for beaches and culture) and the Philippines (for beaches). But I don’t know whether it is a right season to be there in May or June. Or another option is to Check Angor Wat in Cambodia for several days would be interesting. Hope this help you planing your trip 😃😃

Hey! I am looking for some quite (no waves) beach to take my mom during this period. Checked Phuket's beaches, too many waves, didn't like at all. Could you please suggest some nice islands to check out for a clean calm beach and things to do around. Thank you in advance!
@rusleekhumban38282 жыл бұрын
@@alenaarkhipova709 Hey Alena 👋. First of all, if you like to go to beach with calm wave. I would suggest you to look at the Lunar month. Since different period in Lunar month play a important role in shaping current and wave. Try to avoid full moon and new moon period. These two period cause the highest different between low tide and high tide, therefore a more stronger current and bigger wave. On the others, during the first and third quarters (around 5,6,7,8,9) are the best time to go to the beach if you expect no wave. Overall, Phuket beaches have both big and no wave days. The most calm beach I would suggest is Kata, Naiharn, Nai Yang, and Patong (some of such beach could be busy). For a nice island with good accessibility (short distance from the main land) is Koh Hey (or Coral Island), Koh Khai (but relatively smaller) and Koh Racha Yai (a bit longer distance but there is a hotel where you can spend overnight there).
@rusleekhumban38282 жыл бұрын
@@alenaarkhipova709 for Similand island and Surin island, they are definitely such a pretty island but it takes 1-2 hrs from the pier at Phang-nga to reach their. If you Botha are fit and okey with travelling time then I guess it worths. Koh Yao Yai and Yao Noi, Koh Lanta are also nice island with local and suburb vibe. But there aren’t that many facilities and the beach aren’t that pretty as in Phuket or far islands. But if are looking for calm place then I think you gonna like it. Here in Phuket, if you are looking for less crowded beach, I would say Nai Yang, Mai Khao, Nai thon, and Layan beach are suit you. In Patong area, Merlin and Tritrang beac are also great with easier accessibility compared with Freedom beach which you have to hike downhill. Again, you gotta look at the Lunar month and also some weather forecast sine both play an influential role determining how big the wave is.

@@rusleekhumban3828 I randomly came across your comments here and I'm going to give you the props you deserve. Amazing information and this is the kind of intel you just don't get on KZbin videos or on blogs. I know this, because I've spent the last 3 weeks researching. Appreciate you taking your time to write this up! Quick question, I'm travelling to Thailand Nov 10-22, 2022 with my girlfriend. Going to spend the first 4-5 days in Bangkok. However, we can't decide which province/island(s) to spend the next 5-6 days on. Currently, we have 2 itineraries, Phuket and surrounding area/islands or... Koh Samui and surrounding area/islands. We would love to hear your suggestions for around that time of the year. @Denny and Nikki Love the content, keep it up! Don't forget to add Google Map links in the description for all the places you guys been to!

I've been to Railay (ray leh) many times, and yes, it's an amazing spot. Eat Thai food when you're there, it's good, don't go for the pricey stuff, they don't pull it off well, but the local stuff thats not expensive is surprisingly awesome, spicy, but awesome. Great for rock climbing, or diving, or just having a beginner muay thai lesson at view point. Not to mention the happy shakes and herb options.

Also did a sunset cruise for the 4 islands which included sunset dinner at Phra Nang which was an amazing experience

@@DennyandNikki If you are staying in Krabi or Ao Nang, then I would do the following tours, if you haven't done so: 4 Islands Tour (Poda, Tup, Chicken and Phra Nang) Phi Phi Islands day tour (Phi Phi Leh Lagoon, Viking Cave, Monkey Island, Phi Phi Don Island, Bamboo Island) Hong Island Tour (Pak Bia Island, Lao Lading Island, Hong Island, Hong Lagoon) James Bond Tour (James Bond Island, Koh Panyee floating island) Visit the Emerald Pool, the Hot Springs and climb 1237 steps to the top of Tiger Cave Temple And obviously spend a day in Railey Peninsula, which you have done, Hope that helps

How does it compare to Koh Phi Phi? It looks kind of similar...I'm on Phuket right now but am missing the cool lime stone cliffs of Koh Phi Phi. Maybe I'll have to look into taking a trip over to that area in the future! It does look beautiful.

I been in Railey and Phi Phi last month and both are beautiful places, I think Railey is a bit expensive for drink and eat instead of Phi Phi (you can found really cheap stays in both places!), an also Railey is more hippie style, I really liked!

@@tonio.v, yeah one of these days I'll have to get over to that part of Thailand. I'm kind of addicted to Phuket, lol. I've stayed here now quite a bit over the last 8 years, and especially during covid in 2020 when I was here on the island. I went to Koh Phi Phi in 2019 for 3 days and stayed for 5, haha. Something about Phuket and the surrounding islands that I love so much. It's not far up to Phang Nga either on my motorbike. I've got a buddy that rents me a bike and a room for $240 USD a month, and so I always stay with him. I've got several friends on the island too that teach English. I stay in Phuket Town where things are a little cheaper than the touristy towns on the island.

@@JayDollarhide really nice, Phuket was my first destination and I liked! maybe the problem with Railey is there are no much options or big supermarkets, I thing is more for turism, but is amazing, I found good ambient

As a Thais, I recommend maya beach phi phi, similan, lipe. Definitely beautiful I guarantee 😉 The food in islands must more expensive bcos the locals have to take all ingredients, meats, vegetables from lands by their diesel boats. Don’t expect too much on food on islands. It’s a lot better in the city like Phuket, Krabi. Choose comfort food like Thai pork omelette with rice, pork or chicken pad krapaw. Can’t go wrong with them😉

I loved Riley beach! I also went to the Phi Phi Islands. Everything was so affordable there. I think my hotel was like $30 a night and really nice. Watch out for the monkeys lol. They like the steal your stuff. Also at Riley Beach they had a penis cave which caught me by surprise. It’s some sort of local religious site for fertility where women bring penis wood carvings as offerings. It was just funny because I walked from the beautiful beach to the check out the cave and was like holy penises lol. Otherwise I absolutely loved it there. Next time I want to visit Phuket on the other side.
