Hunting season is almost here. My in-laws are here visiting us. My Dad-in-law ask me today, "How many deer are you gonna try to get?" The biggest fish I have caught was a 32 pound AJ. I swear I’m not kidding. It was on a zebco 33 because I was 9 years old and it was all I knew how to use. 10 pound test no leader. Crazy, I think because I couldn’t pull hard enough it didn’t break off. Took me about 15 minutes to get him in. On a live shrimp by the way. I was just trying to catch little reds and specs. Don’t know where the AJ came from. So much fun. I’m 55 now.

The streams coming into that lake or loaded with chubs and suckers I'm used to pound suckers to catch flatheads that's how big they are people come from all over the country to fish this Lake there's only two lakes in Pennsylvania where they stock flatheads Lake Arthur High Point Lake on Mount Davis at Somerset PA the highest altitude Lake in Pennsylvania and it has every fish in there there is you throw out your lure count to three in pool and you got something every time crappies walleyes northern pike giant Smallmouth as big as footballs a lot of State records also come out of this High Mountain Lake it could be 95 out you go up there and it's 75 and you got to put a shirt on Fourth of July we drove up there and there was seven boats on the whole Lake the only allowed 9.9 horsepower but it's not a big lake I use my little 16 ft Jon Boat what's a 40 lb thrust trolling motor Annette's plenty for all day make sure you bring an extra battery if I could I would live there they actually have heated bathrooms wish showers a small campground that's free 410 or motorhome but there's no sewage or power hookups is just a place to put your tent if you need to charge something there's power outlets at the bathroom so what you use them for free and the shower is 50 Cents for 20 minutes and it's hot they have cold showers outside for free but the water is so cold even in July you turn blue LOL

The record Flathead in my local lake Lake Arthur Moraine State Park Western Pennsylvania was 86 lb the big blue was 87 lb in 40 lb Channel caps all day long it's called a trophy Lake everything has to be bigger to keep it bass and walleyes have to be 20 inches northern pike that would normally be 24 is 30 in muskies that used to be 30 in of 36 in the largest crappie ever caught in the state was in my local reservoir for the city drinking water 23 1/2 inches and 4 and 1/4 pounds the biggest one in Lake Arthur was 21 in and 3 and 1/2 lb I know it sounds ridiculous but they're that big in there because there's so much feed we made an accident we ordered 100,000 gizzard Shad to be stocked and they brought us a million and they said they couldn't take them back so we put them in the lake because we started with stripers and they were way too many nobody can catch him cuz they're always using Light line we have wipers all the time that get over 20 lb I know it sounds like a bunch of bull but it's true check out the statistics on the internet that's Lake Arthur Butler County Western Pennsylvania trophy Lake we have nice campgrounds and you're allowed to fish 24 hours a day and you can fish in the spillway and you can fish off the dam and we have one propagation area where you're not allowed to fish and of course that's where the biggest bass are oh by the way we caught a 12 lb plus Bass sounds like Florida but his sister so much feed in this Lake anyway I take the biggest bluegill or crappie I can catch you're allowed to use Game fish for bait long as they're legal size in Pennsylvania am I cut the fins off on one side so they swim in a circle and smash the tail with a rock so they're losing a bunch of skills but they're still alive down there there's an old boat launch on the east side of the lake on Mount Zion where there's a church it used to be a boat launch but now it's not you can fish there write out from that Old boat launch is an underwater Dam that used to be called Shannon Lake it was a big pay lake and then the creek Channel comes out of it it's about 50 yards out can you throw your bait on the edge of that thing and you'll catch the biggest catfish in the world but it's definitely a night time like too much boat traffic in the daytime at night you're only allowed to go 10 miles an hour on this Lake I'm on the east side unless there's a lot of wind it gets flat as a pancake all the time and after October 1st there's nobody fishing out there just you and Bigfoot not kidding LOL that's not a lake to put fish on the Stringer the catfish and brave will come up and just take it when you pool water blue your hair don't stick your finger and its mouth somebody in the springtime put a bunch of black piranha in there and they bred with the bluegills some of these Blue Devils have teeth again not kidding and all of a sudden we have a bunch of both in there Somebody went off the Lake Erie and caught a bunch of little ones and put them in there about 5 years ago the one section of the lake by the propagation area is loaded with great big 10 lb bowfin but the state doesn't want you to keep just one one per day that's it and they're quite delicious

I tied that line to 100 lb dog and I pulled him the whole way across the yard with him fighting back I had a 10-foot Ugly Stik rated to 75 lb and a big Penn reel That's rated at 100 lb for the ocean the big gold ones and I pulled that dog in fighting like he was playing and I could not believe it's just pulled him right across the yard
