I was painter at a Triumph shop in the 90s, and learned a lot. The owner made a drilling/tapping jig that bolted to the case to locate the plunger detent hole. Pretty slick. He called the leaf setup a f@g spring,lol. Im rebuilding aT140 and it seems nobody knows there are 2 sizes of shim washers on the rocker shafts,so i got 2 sets of small shims when i ordered the whole set. Ah well.

In enjoy the talking & nerd stuff as much as the build. Never to much for Me. Like to hear the small clue's that can really tell You what Your looking at. With the Brit bike's so many of the engin's look the same it's sometimes hard to even tell what Your dealing with. Great info, keep the fact's & small clues coming. 🤘😎

I have to ask what the deal is with always fitting a unit crank in the pre-units? You seem to do it often and go through a lot of extra work for it so I'm dying to know why! 😁
@weemsmotorcoАй бұрын
Great question. Unit cranks are in abundance and the preunit ones in good shape are hard to find.

were the cams in bad shape? do you have the jig for drilling the hole and threading for the index plunger?

"If you don't have the right tools, don't work on it. Whoever was the last person working on this dos not need to be messing with any engine." I feel personally attacked. This is also why I take my motors to the Hall Brothers at Halls Custom Vintage. Also because I'm a motor moron. But I will take that duplex chopper frame off your hands if you bring it to Barber. Cheers!

@@weemsmotorco how you undo the plug and extract the trap. I done mine with an impact driver and a big drill bit. As you said in the video use the correct tool. I am in the UK and don’t have that many firms around here that do that sort of work
