Wholeheartedly Agree. However, in the case of the Ford EcoBlue engine the oil is not 'due' for replacement until the vehicle has completed 10k miles, or 1 year, whichever comes first. When I first heard of the news of this engine, and the associated oil change interval, I was in absolute disbelief.

On your invoices I suggest you embed a secret code or symbol set which is not really visible unless you zoom right in. Make each set unique to that particular invoice. Store the code in your database alongside the actual invoice record.

My mate had a windfall with a MK2 Escort, bought it for under a grand and discovered other than it being "RS2000'd" with the gearbox shield welded in and a type 5 box giving him 5 speeds, the previous chap had bought from Ford direct a crated 2400cc Lima engine which bolted straight in as the Lima is America's "Pinto" just bigger bores and capable of running a turbo. You can still buy from Ford crated Lima's and even the much desired 4 litre Cologne's if you don't mind waiting and laying out a big wedge but brand new, no miles just slap it in and go...

What you need to do is write the name of the person who owned the vehicle and also write a disclaimer that warranty does not cover anyone who purchases the vehicle afterwards, then the person whose selling the vehicle can't say that there is warranty on the head or engine should you need to claim on it and if they are trying to claim warranty you need photo I.D so if it doesn't match the person you initially did the work for then the warranty is VOID.
