if you are going to be dropping anchor in swamps ect where the bottom could be full of debris and roots id highly recommend an anchor trip rope, on the base of you anchor there is another attachment point, this is for the trip. so then if you can not lift it with the main rope you can get it with the trip as it pulls the anchor out of debris or obstruction backwards.

You were SO lucky to not have an engine failure with all of that debris in the water! The motor could have clogged up so easily and then the cooling water would not have been able to get into it. You've dodged another bullet kids! Sure was nice of that "Lock Lady" to pull you through! Your heater looks more than adequate to warm up the cabin, plus I loved hearing that you were putting it outside when done with it. Traveling with you is an interesting experience indeed.

Nice to see your old boat shine so sweet on your adventures together. I like your boat. Good team work. It might of worked if you stuck that pole off the front of boat in line with the engine and that seems safer too. You both got through safe that's more the point. Sweet! It's unusual that your boat did not have a name. I like the one you chose. One boating danger is getting hit by a big boat. Glad you were not in harms way. Without doubt that heater is for outside only. Plus I recall carbon-monoxide stays low. So you don't want it sitting in your hauls. May I suggest a great down sleeping bag or even better a nice little wood stove you can burn beach and forest wood in to toasty the nights. Installed fire proof safe that is. Likely sitting on a big strong ceramic tile with a big piece of metal around the pipe where it goes through the body and then a safe place for the out side pipe to blow smoke and heat plus a screen to make sure not ashes flow out. ... just ideas. there is likely more too it. Thanks for sharing your adventures.

Rookie!! You need to give her hell when the weeds get thick like that. The water being displaced by the motor will push them out of the way. I’ve been pushing my way through passes like that since I was 12 haha. Flooring it in reverse will clear the prop as well. Good series!

I cannot look away from this train wreck I really hope that by the time y’all get to Florida y’all have some idea of what y’all are doing. Cmon guys do not anchor your boat then go to sleep in the middle of the waterway find a safe spot off to the side. Last video y’all passed a safe anchorage and this time y’all anchored right in the path on a bend. I’m rooting for y’all to succeed but don’t do stuff like that. It’s unsafe for y’all and the boaters around y’all.

Here's a tip you might find handy... Make a simple pole with a small "L" shape lever at one end. Fashion it with a hook to reach the handle built into to motor cover at the end of the "L" bracket. Essentially creating an arm to lift the motor from the boat. Next time you hit thick weeds, put the motor in neutral, lift the motor up so weeds fall off, drop the motor, put in forward and proceed until jammed again. if you do it quickly there's no need to shut off motor, just be sure your in neutral. another option is two push poles, it appears very shallow there.

Interesting!

It covers the flotation devices, the lights, what you need for coast guard compliance, safety, navigation ect. I don't think they took that. I can understand though why they're using the icww though. If they left at the end of October for Florida they may have been fine but this time of year the gusts and storms can get wicked in the Atlantic going towards Florida.
