I love reading up on people who inspired us to take the leap of faith and start our RV journey. Our channel is Four2Tour and it was Knorpp and South who we began watching to get inspiration. I never thought for a moment what it is like for people to watch someone else's videos. Your comment is inspiring to keep moving/pushing on. Thanks for sharing it - never thought someone could feel like this.

megan, i love when you randomly share your self reflection in the video. when you talk about why eve's behaviour bother you was because of your own need to be in control, it made me stop to think and reflect on myself as well. it is admirable that you always seem to find solution for your issue with your children by reflecting inside yourself.it is easier to control our reaction to other's action than to change others.

When you mentioned Eve and how she doesn't want to do what you want to do, I think of Love and Logic. Give her two choices, both of which you are happy with, and then you both win! Love and Logic is a parenting/teaching method taught by Jim Fay and Foster Cline.

I moved to the Asheville area shortly after my newly retired, 56 year old husband passed away suddenly. I live in the retirement home we picked out together. Visiting The Biltmore grounds gives me a measure of peace I haven't found anywhere else. People leave their daily lives behind and become the people we all should and can be. My favorite place is the lagoon by the river where I can sit quietly then walk or bike to the house and gardens, or the more commercial Antler Hill area. An annual pass gives me access all year.

As I watched this, it brought back very fond memories of our honeymoon. We went to the mountains and visited the Biltmore for two days while we were there. It's an absolutely amazing place that everyone should visit. The indoor swimming pool with underwater lights blew my mind especially when you realize that they were doing that in the 1890's. Thanks for great memories!

I am subscribed to over 100 KZbin sites but yours is the only one that I continually pounce on hoping for new episodes before I deserve it. And, I re-run the episodes which seem as fresh every time, as if I am watching them for the first time. Your mastery of Final Cut Pro X, your ability to spot, shoot, render, and deliver freshly detailed stories every few days, starring your delightfully funny, wise, family, sets the depth of your movies above so many others that I never tire of re-visiting your stories. Up to this week my favourite amongst so many of your first rate adventures was The Uphill Hike to the Y. But this week's Biltmore is the new classic for me. Your quirky, complex, little adventures driven by all 11 characters in your family are not easy to make anywhere let alone in a cramped RV. Each story takes hours to edit, render, and upload. Can't wait for your European journey to begin. Thank you so much for caring and sharing.

The "yard" of the Biltmore that Pearl mentioned is the part I'd like to see, too. Did you know that the _landscape architect_ who planted trees, etc (in addition to the trees that were already there) was the same one who designed beautiful Central Park in New York, Frederick Law Olmstead? That's my favorite kind of landscaping: natural-looking, with beautiful trees, on rolling hills.

Most people don't know that the Biltmore house was built by the Vanderbilt family which includes Gloria Vanderbilt the designer and her son Anderson Cooper who are the last members of that branch of the family. It was a vacation home and not their primary home. There are parts of the home that are not open to the public. The house even has a bowling 🎳 alley and swimming pool inside it. The dining hall is very much like the great hall in the Harry Potter movies and they also have a ballroom where they held large parties. The area around the house supported the people who worked at the house and tended the property which included large areas for farming and making the things needed and used by the family. Has your family ever been to Old Salem in Winston Salem, NC? It is where a large group of Moravians settled. There are other settlements in other parts of the country. I know that there is one in Pennsylvania. It is a pretty amazing place to visit and see how they worked together to support all members of the community. Another place is Mount Airy NC which is the home town of Andy Griffith and the model for the town in his TV show. Andy actually went to the Moravian church there to learn how to play some of the instruments he played. In addition to a great museum and businesses that were apart of the town he created we have some amazing local businesses that have developed over the years. We have some pretty awesome wineries and parks too. We moved here in 2000 for some new teaching jobs and to be closer to family.
