Great video showing the many different options, you clearly know your stuff. We are looking around so found this very interesting. Do you ever review the different manufacturers that the motorhomes,campervans are built on. As in engine reliability, fuel costs and running costs etc.

Thank you for watching! I don’t do separate chassis reviews as such.. I know the Ducato series 9 has had a few issues and there is a recall just come out on it. Personally I do like Mercedes but that’s going to increase the price tag by £15-20k. Running costs are all fairly similar along with mpg.. mpg is a hard one as it depends on the weight of your motorhome and the speeds you are traveling at. Mercedes tend to be more expensive to run. Motorhome owners groups and Motorhome Fun forum is a great place to get an overview of reliability. Happy motorhome shopping 😊👍

Nice one guys. Totally agree with make list and view as many as possible. We spent months looking and whittling down to just one. Or so we thought. Just when we had decided we called into a local dealer for a coffee. Mentioned to the sales person we loved this particular vehicle but too expensive. We were not aware that it had been reduced significantly. Just goes to show, always ask. Deposit went straight down. Thanks Kimberly.

A lot to pay for a box van. I find there is more room in my Bailey Phoenix 420 2 berth and the shower space is plastic lined so a wet room. Around 20k new Motorhomes are too large to park plus height restrictions at some car. Campervans with a pop up roof are a better proposition.

Is there any particular reasoning behind where the main entrance door is situated ? meaning ....could it actually start at the back end of the van ?

On some non fixed bed layouts the door is at the back, often with either the bathroom or kitchen. It depends on the layout as to how practical it is 😊

Did you miss the swing wall bathroom on the first motorhome? Also, for those who prefer narrower motorhomes, were there any campervan width coachbuilts available (like the Swift Ascari range)?

Thank you for watching, Camper UK is a dealer for Swift but they didn’t have any compact width models in the showroom. Other compact Motohromes to consider at 2.1-2.2 metre width are Bailey Alora, Auto-Trail Excel and Adria Compact. I do have content of all these further back on the channel. Carthago does a Compact but it is an integrated motorhome (A-Class).

Went to Camper UK when we were buying our A class. Found their Salesman very rude and not very knowledgable about his stock. It was like we were stoping him from having his lunch and he want a happy bunny about. Worst dealer though has to be TMD near Redditch. They are shockingly bad!!!

The £180k motorhomes are lovely, but my research suggest that motorhome insurers are reluctant to accept the risk of providing insurance and therfore offer ridiculouse quotes.

Thank you for watching.. with regards insurance, obviously everyone is a different risk but most of the larger insurance companies will insure for reasonable premiums. Most will require a tracker and / or alarm. We have always been insured with Caravan Guard and been happy with our Motorhome insurance, certainly cheaper than our cars. Premiums for A Class motorhomes are often more due to the cost of replacing a damaged windscreen, which is thousands. You do raise a good consideration for purchasing though, thank you 😊👍

Thank you for watching, there is quite a bit more that goes in to the production than just a base van. You have to factor in the base vehicle, the production costs, labour, materials, type approval of the vehicles, transportation across Europe to the UK, import tax for the vehicle and then once in the UK the dealer has their own profit margin to add to cover their over heads. The profit margin isn’t that much on a motorhome, as far as I know. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t support these high prices for the consumer but the manufacturers want to sell, like the dealers do, but they still need to make sure their business is financially viable. I would love a new Motohrome but I couldn’t afford one now so I appreciate how people feel who would like to buy. Have a good weekend and thanks for leaving a comment with a reasonable question 😊👍

2030 will kill the motorhome market. There are no viable power sources for an electric motorhome that would leave enough weight for passengers and belongings without exceeding 3500kgs And there are no motorhome charging points anywhere. Let alone in the remote areas that you want to want to go to. Van life is OVER. If you buy a camper or motorhome in the next few years you better be prepared to accept depreciation on an epic scale. A 100k class A will be worth ZERO by 2031. You won't be able to give it away.

There have been some developments with the electric Ducato and talk about having a new higher weight specifically for motorhomes that would be over 3500kg but with the standard car licence. There are certainly some challenges ahead in the near future.

Just don't get motorhomes.... Still no chilling living room space, still suck on the captain seats. There's always a compromise with motorhomes, just get back to your Adria caravan and have a bit of luxury. My personal view, but not for me.

I absolutely agree you loose that lounging space on an evening but equally its easy to pack up and move around and I can motorhome by myself if needs be, I couldn’t have done that with our Isonzo with my back injury. I could not justify spending £120, 000 on what basically is a van kitted out to live in. The annual expenses are pretty high with the cost of diesel, storage, insurance, service, habitation checks and camp site fees. Personally, I would rather drive somewhere and stay at a B&B for £100 per night which includes breakfast.
