speaking of how sogeking saved robin, did you know oda initially intended for ussop to fight and beat a member of cp9 but then though it wouldn't be fitting to his character and skills and made him save robin through his snipping skills instead?

i'm so far removed from 12 years ago, there was the "baka" line franky would call iceberg, and i can't remember if i liked "baka-berg" or not

i'm pretty sure kaizoku fansubs stopped around this time, which was the sub i started with and loved. they'd animate the devil fruit powers in different fonts and effects. i can't remember if it was navy or military, but i got attached to theirs and then all the new subs use the other term. anyway, if they did stop around this time, there was a sub that translated Tom-san's "resolute" into "don", "do things with a don" and i like that level of translating. leave a few fun words in, they always left "nakama" in place, newer subs use "comrade" or "friend" in the subs i see in the past several years.

@@muzz4610 it is an accurate translation. i just have to google what the word is in japanese myself, it's just not a "full translation" when i look up what nakama means, it's a little different, a little special, than the familiar words like comrade or friend.

only because at first Oda hadnt mapped out the power system at first, as it wasnt like he was out to make a DBZ style power system out the gate. hell at first One Piece was gonna be 4 sagas long, but it's grown immensely since that point.@@royalfun1031

New Crewmate (would prefer that Sogeking took Usopp's place, but that's just me...) New Ship (Merry was the Goat, but she was an old gal, the Sunny was built to handle whatever the Grand Line can throw at her.) New Bounties and a New Life for Robin, she has the one thing she wanted most in this world. Water 7 ends on a fantastic note, now it's onward to the next saga.
