We've got a lhaso apso he's almost five and his name is Leo(🦁 lion) he means everything to us he is so loving and protective they was guard dogs for the Tibetan monks in their monasteries little sturdy and sometimes stubborn dogs with the bark of a huge 🐕🐶 absolutely a great choice your little baby is georgeous love Jan x 👌 I know it's a old video but had to comment

Our family had the honor of having a lhasa apso when my sisters boyfriend surprised her with one in the summer of 1994. Well, ahe ended up breaking up with him and going to college that september and my parents were "stuck" with Rascal, his name. We loved that little guy. We never trained him because he was way too stubborn. He really didnt give a shit what anyone thought of him😂. We lived in an extremely close knit neighborhood and he would only be put on a leash in the rarest of occasions. I remember one time he followed me all the way to my little league game abiut a mile away from our house. I couldnt grab him because he was too fast. He ended up running away and i cried the entire game. When i got back to the house, who do you think was there to greet me?😂😂😂 The little bastard did what he wanted to do, damn our feelings.... Anyways, he lived 17 years! 16 of them he was vobrant and healthy, besides occasional issues like DRINKING ANTIFREEZE and one time actually getting lost in a storm (dogs being able to know when thunder is approaching way before us, he just ran and ran and ran) before finding his way back to us a few days later. He was a great dog. I encourage anybody who is thinking about getting one to do so. You wont be disappointed!

You have your work cut out for you if a lhasa is your first dog. Having owned one for 16 years (and she was our first dog), I can tell you that lhasas can be super stubborn and like to try to boss around everyone if they have the opportunity. Invest in finding a really good dog trainer to help you understand how to train him. Steady and early obedience training is the key. Lhasas are a great breed and I love their confidence and self-assuredness, but they do need a firm hand at the wheel, or else they're quite happy to try to become the firm mouth at the wheel instead.

You just said the whole truth. Mine is only 2 months and bro I assure you this girl is SUPER STUBBORN. I literally have to yell at her some times and slightly spank her to obey me and I suddenly start feeling bad after doing that. Please, if you can contact me let’s talk I’d be grateful. Every word is true! He can be stubborn, but you need to show him that you are the boss Don’t give him the control of things. About food, I also need help, he had an allergy in early spring and since then he is on hypoallergenic Royal Canin. Before I give any human food to him I always read about it first. So far he loves carrots, watermelon and apples.

Wow I guess we’ve been very fortunate. Ours is 11 and has been very obedient from the beginning. He’s had one accident in the house and that wasn’t until a few months ago after he’d had surgery. I’m not kidding. We brought him home at six weeks, I took him out regularly, and no accidents. We learned quickly that he’ll do anything for praise and a treat. The more praise he gets the more eager he is to please, and he doesn’t know a stranger but he was around a lot of people from the minute we brought him home. They are one of the oldest dog breeds, bred primarily to be a lap dog, foot warmer, companion and alert dog, so they can’t be, shouldn’t be, alone very long. Be firm, but pour on the love and affection and you’ll get back a hundred times more. They can be real clowns too!

We lost our Lhasa Apso Pee Dee of 18 plus years last mouth it’s been a heart crusher. She was the best little girl Pee Dee was the first little doggie in a long line of dogs If we had to do it all over again It would only be the Big Little Lhasa Apso We are an older Couple reconsidering looking for a Lhasa Apso to Rescue The cost to buy a Lhasa Apso is over the top for us We retired to Central Oregon from San Diego five years ago but would be willing to drive Love you Puppy Please enjoy ever Moment

Your husband lied to you. lol Now you must get a Tibetan Mastiff. The Tibetan monks paired those two breeds together. The Lhasa Apso has very sensitive hearing. So it was the sentry dog. That's why they bark more than normal. The guard dog is the Tibetan Mastiff. Which is about 100lbs. And they look like they have a lion's mane. I have a Lhasa Apso myself and wanted the Tibetan Mastiff to pair him. But I could not find a breeder here.

Just don’t let her go where she used to pee. And take her out every hour or so ( depends on how old she is) so she can pee there. We bought a fence for him, so first month he spent a lot of time there( while we were at work) and he never peed inside the fence, always waited. Dogs don’t pee where they eat and sleep. When we get home from work , first thing we did-took him out so he can pee Biting... just play with toys with her a lot Show her that it is good to bite toys But when she bites you -scream ( not at her, just in general)or something, show that it is painful and you don’t want to play with her after that

Lhasa's are tiny and their necks delicate. its better to have them on normal leashes and in a harness rather than collars. they can hurt themselves if they pull too hard with a collar and a retractable leash.
