Exploring the countryside of Rural China had always been a dream of ours. To be able to ride around in the lush green valleys and explore the villages.
Dali, Yunnan Province, was our destination for a taste of rural Chinese life. But our adventure took an unexpected twist when we got lost in the maze of narrow alleys and winding streets.
Come along as we navigate this enchanting city, where ancient traditions blend seamlessly with breathtaking landscapes. Rural China has been the most amazing adventure so far.

That's fantastic! This is exactly the kind of place where I want to live. In a few years, I plan to rent a house with a garden in Dali, where I can fish, play with a paddleboard, grow vegetables, keep a dog, ride a motorcycle, and make videos... Just thinking about it makes me happy

That sounds like a great plan but for your info, the lake Erhai at Dali is restricted from swimming boating and fishing. It is a nature preserved lake side. Other than that, all your wishes tick the box. It is ideal for retirement.

Sure, it is the best place on earth to enjoy. In cities or rural areas in China, people are curious but not scums often found in other countries. China is safe and her people are civilized with traditions and virtue. Even in rural far-flung areas, there is food and transport connectivity. More impressive is the cleanliness and maintenance at touristry area. Could not ask for more about peace of mind.

Besides Dali, Lijiang and Shangri-la, if you have time, those places in Yunnan also worth visiting: Tengchong, Jianshui, Mile, Yuanyang, Xishuangbanna, Fuxian Lake, Lugu Lake, LIncang. Don't miss the hiking paths if you like nature view, like the Tiger Leaping Gorge Path, Yuben to Binhu Path, etc.

I've been to Dali and during that time, they will still doing up the road around the lake. Dali has that calm, peaceful and chill vibes that I love and will have to go back again soon. I too rented a e-bike to zip around Dali and they told me 1 charge u can travel 200km. And if u my bike batt rans out, give them a call and they will come and pick us up.

There is this really nice ancient town in Dali called Shaxi Ancient Town. The Houses are much older than most of Dali. Great place for you to check out, but’s about an hour drive from you.

the electric scooters are capped at 25 kmph so that's why you don't need a license. you should ask about helmets though. usually the places that rent them provide it. much cheaper than I thought at only 30 rmb? if you want to travel further, just stop by some cafe, get a drink and ask if you can plug in for a bit lol.

Me n my wife went to Dali about 4 years ago, Do remember to go to a town on the other side of the lake called Shuanglang! Book a hotel by the lakeside n u will see beautiful sunrise n sunset right in your room!
