You can climb the Lotus mountain which is not very high to have a great view of the city centre and go up to the Ping’an Financial Centre to have a bird’s eye view of Shenzhen. It’s worth it, take my word for it

Saw China a few months ago, this is not ready to go back?

As a Chinese I highly recommand you travel with the slow sleeper train.There are different types of slow trains, e.g. 1462,K71,T110,Z257. The only number train is the slowest, K means fast,T means very fast, and Z means direct which is the fastest,Z train can reach the speed of 160km/h. Despite they travel at different speeds, their tickets cost almost the same, so it's a very economic and comfortable way to travel on a Z train. Imagine that if you try to take a train from Guangzhou to Beijing, you can choose Z14, and book a soft sleeper seat which is almost the best seat, and the soft sleeper seat costs only 750 yuan and 22hours,.or you can take G338 or D902(G or D means bullet train),even the second class seat cost about 700-900yuan and 11hours. The romantic thing on a slow train is during the sunset, you couple walk to the meal cart, order some dishes and drink some wine, have your meal and watch the sceanary pass by,when it's dark, go back to your soft sleeper room and enjoy your night.I promise you will get better experience than that on a second class of a bullet train.

you can, actually, stay in the business lounge with just the business tickets. they'll also notify and lead you to your gate when your train arrives. people with membership with the logos you see get to stay as well, but they'll need to keep an eye on the time themselves.

Shenzhen has a very beautiful scenery called Shenzhen observatory in the east side of Shenzhen. It’s built by a cliff and it’s got absolutely amazing views. Def go search some photos of that place (and maybe some more beach photos because Shenzhen has some of the most gorgeous beach views). I’m from Shenzhen and most tourists only think about the high tech and skyscrapers part of Shenzhen. In fact we Shenzeners are proud of our nature views including beaches and coastlines AND even mountains where you can climb to the very top to see the entire city. A little tip: you can now take metro line 8 right to one of the major beaches called DaMeiSha or XiaoMeiSha, these two are the most major ones next to each other in Yantian District which are about 40mins from the city center.

At a major train station, such as this one Guangzhou South Station, buying a business class ticket means that you also get entry to business lounge with business lane entrance. This means that you don’t have to wait in queue like everyone else. But the language barrier can be a little hard for you to navigate inside the huge train station.
