The Norman Rockwell book sold for $60 in 1974, the year I was gifted the book. I still have it…and my love of Norman Rockwell’s art. Great find!

That cross stitch quilt is stunning. The hours of work that went into it is unreal. I need the Pollyanna book just based on my name.

I have the Betty Crocker Cookbook. I received this in 1970 as a gift when I got married. Mine, however, mine is a 3-ring binder style. Enjoy watching anything you two do.

All those wonderful books you found at the Bins store makes my heart beat a bit faster! I love glass, I love textiles & I LOVE old books! It's refreshing to see you guys get excited about "old" textiles found at the Bins! I come from a generation whose parents & grandparents made all those "old" textiles themselves. I remember my mom crocheting & doing other needlework in the evenings as she watched TV. Hands were never idle with my parents & grandparents, plus, they didn't have the money to buy store bought. They beautified their homes with their own talents using things found around the house. Not much was wasted or thrown away. It was used to make something new, useful or beautiful. There's something to be said about that in our "throw away" society.

My Book House is in a set of 12 books. Poems and stories graduated for ages. My favorite story was The Teeny Tiny Woman. Purple was my color choice for it.

I waited all day for this. One of my favorites. Norman Rockwell Book, wow. The sham, is all crocheted. It’s so nice to have your mom with you, Zeb. I miss my mom. Now I’m sorry I painted my old washstand, although I got many favorable responses.

It’s just me shoving it in my washer with a tide pod and some oxiclean and I press start and then I throw everything over the banisters. Sometimes I use my upstairs and down stairs banisters. We have three floors because of the basement and lots of railing to dry on.

I love that little dresser--what's the difference between oil wax and regular wax. Could you have used just white wax, and the effect would have been the same?
@JamiRayVintage5 ай бұрын
Oil wax cures hard and just looks a little different. But white wax would look similar.
@artistikitty5 ай бұрын
You’re lucky Zeb is fussy about his socks, Jami. 😉 I saw three toes sticking out of my husbands socks today. 🤦♀️😝 He is NOT fussy, apparently. Ugh.

Is there any difference between this oil wax and the "hard wax oil" you hear about being used specifically for flooring? I'm going to install hardwood in my home this year and am intrigued by your oil waxed floors!
@JamiRayVintage5 ай бұрын
I don’t know. I used this same oil wax on my floors it’s not super hard though but it has worn beautifully over time.
@JLee-pc2vc5 ай бұрын
@@JamiRayVintage Thank you! I got a samples your oil waxes and tried them on some wood. So much prettier and richer than polyurethane! Another question, if you have time: If they get worn or scratched in one spot could you touch them up by simply adding more oil wax or to repair would you have to totally sand the whole floor down just like you do with polyurethaned floors?
