I love how easy these things are to modify. One of the cheapest simplest upgrades is the tension spring. For anyone who grabs one and feels like the stick feels too loose, or you want more accuracy with your inputs I would throw a 3-4 lb tension spring in there. It's like $1.50 and takes 5 mins to replace.

I first looked into getting an arcade stick for the first time back when DBFZ was going to launch. The Qanba Drone was actually going to be my first choice because it was like $45 on sale but stupid me didn't realize EVO was going on so all manner of arcade sticks were selling out super fast. My other option I was looking at was the Hori RAP 4 but I ended up getting a Razer Panthera even though at was one of the most premium priced sticks at the time I had a ton of credit at GameStop and ended up paying like $50 out of pocket lol. Thing is built like a tank and super easy to work on. Haven't used it in a while because the buttons finally started behaving wonky and I gotta swap them out but it lasted me the better part of near a decade before doing so. Now I mainly use a little custom keyboard layout board similar to the fightboard MX

Qanba is smoking some of that good stuff, $320 MSRP for the Obsidian 2 that does the same thing as the PS4 Obsidian except it's natively compatible with PS5 whereas the Obsidian is PS5 fighting game compatible via Legacy Support. Same for the Titan, why there's no plexiglass designed for a $225 arcade stick is just ridiculous for a Drone 2 upgrade. Go for a Hori Fighting Stick Alpha for $200 new or a Nacon Daija for $250. Bold strategy for releasing 3 tiers of questionably priced arcade sticks when many other brands are cutting down to a single model or trying to get into the leverless market.

My 1st stick was the white, 360 version of the drone. My problem with modern qanba sticks is the lack of ability for these sticks to take many Korean style levers. It's the biggest blind spot in the market right now. Why are no FS makers making cases that can take all types of levers? I understand that sticks with a no plexi front, it doesn't make sense but any stick with a plexi front case can be made to take multiple collar types with alternate plexis and underlying metal plates

I kinda respectfully disagree with you Max, while the Drone is an awesome budget alternative, being a PS5/PS4 and PC only stick does limit the appeal, not to mention that $129.99 is still a stickler of a price, I personally think that the Mayflash F300 Arcade is better for those who have never used an arcade stick before, being that it is truly universal, you can use on Switch and PC as well as PS and Xbox systems (though admittedly via a clunky 2nd USB connection for the latter 2 systems), it has the standard button layout (L1/L2 on the far right), it can me modded with branded parts (like Sanwa), and it only costs $60. Make no mistake, it isn't as good as the Drone, but for anyone curious for a Fightstick, for $60 you get a good taste that you can later sell and buy you a better one, or just stick with it, if you're not that serious about competing, I mean you can add Sanwa Stick and buttons, so for casual play, it's good enough. Still, thank you for your opinion Max, I certainly would trust you over my dumb opinion for anyone else reading this comment.
