As they say in Thailand you have a good heart❤ excellent work from the Thai police in London the police would be of little help and frankly not interested .
In Thailand, there are many foreign scammers, and it's common for tourists to create content testing whether Thai people have a tendency to steal. Most Thais have a strong sense of integrity and don’t want to take from tourists, as it would harm our country's image. Although many KZbinrs highlight Thailand positively, we still urge tourists to be cautious with their belongings. Even Thai people themselves worry about losing their possessions. This is partly because we have neighboring countries facing poverty, and Thailand might be a target for individuals seeking to exploit tourists. Such situations can negatively affect your travel experience. We hope you continue to explore with happiness from now on.
As a Thai American so glad the thief was not my ppl. ❤

You have a kind heart; however, in Thailand, crimes against a person cannot be withdrawn since it is considered the state’s duty to protect individuals even if you wish not to after him. So, he has to serve consequence of his action.

In Thailand, we don't pity murderers. We don't do that. If they choose to do wrong, Thailand will punish them. It's hard to turn back after being released from prison, so not many people dare to steal.

Honestly, I feel truly sorry for all the tourists and visitors who have had to endure such unfortunate experiences in Thailand. It’s deeply frustrating that crimes like theft, robbery, and even begging are often committed by individuals from neighbouring countries who come to Thailand. This isn’t the first time incidents like this have happened but it’s been reported countless times on telly and online, and now it’s happened again in this case. However, I’m grateful that the Thai police are taking action to address this situation. I deeply apologise for what both of you have had to go through and sincerely thank you for visiting our country. I hope the rest of your journey brings you joy and positive experiences. Wishing you a wonderful day, and an early Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Please know that this isn’t a reflection of Thai people or Thailand as a whole. Most people here are kind and welcoming. I hope this experience doesn’t take away from the good memories you have or will make here. If there’s anything I can do to help, please let me know.

You don’t need to feel guilty at all. Stealing to support a family and children is a separate issue. This is Thailand. If you don’t have food, are unemployed, or looking for work, you can walk into a restaurant and ask for food. People will definitely give you something to eat for free. If you have nowhere to stay, you can ask to stay at a temple. Even if you need money urgently, people will still help you. What will happen next is the court will probably sentence them to 1-2 years in prison and then deport them. I want to say again that I know you’re a kind person, but you don’t have to feel bad about this. If they didn’t do this to you, they would do it to someone else. They didn’t need to take advantage of you like this.

Stealing from other people is illegal, but as a human being, I feel sorry for him. At least it is a lesson for him in life. If he goes back to his own country to do the same, he will be arrested as well. Rest well. I think Thai people will not let this go and will make it a news. I believe that Thai people who saw this clip also feel uncomfortable. And I have seen many Thai people's comments that are as sad and hurt as you. Luckily, the police were able to handle it. Imagine if Thai people helped arrest them. The motorcycle taxi drivers and food delivery people on the outside look gentle. On the other hand, if they saw foreigners being stolen in front of them, if they were caught, they would have been severely punished before the police arrived. And I think he's done it many times, not just the first time.

Most of the scammers in Thailand come from countries surrounding Thailand or neighboring countries. Theft charges in Thailand are considered a non-compoundable criminal offense, meaning that even if you tell the police that you do not want to press charges against the man, the Thai police will not be able to do what you ask and he will still be prosecuted under Thai law.😅 But damn! when I first saw him I thought he must be Cambodian, I was surprised he was from Indonesia.😮

And for the thief, don’t take anything that is not yours, nor not given to you. The police did a good job, in supporting you.
