Yep nothing like those emergency repair jobs. I had one this week. It was a getter out were 2 studs were broken off in an exhaust manifold.

That shaft project sounds cool. Do you think that much of a shrink fit will crush the female part of the clutch splines too small to fit on what it goes on to?

Check the 924 Porsche they used the engine in front trans in the read

We investigated repurposing some parts from the 924, unfortunately the dimensions just weren't compatible so we're having to start from scratch.

@perpetualmotion1 I was really just pointing out that they had done it, and might be worth looking at for ideas. Hopefully we get to see the final result, maybe see it racing,

@@bigunone we were originally really hoping we could just find something that was adaptable, unfortunately nothing was close enough to the dimensions we need for this application. We are stealing some of their ideas about how they supported the shaft in the tube though, the Porsche arrangement is quite intriguing.

I should try to get to the track when they test this thing out for the first time and shoot some video of it, that's a good idea.
