Very interesting you mentioned women being attracted to the CT. I experienced this firsthand with my wife of nearly 50 years. We were at a St. Patrick’s Day parade on Long Island, NY and I happened to turn around and noticed a CT parked 50’ behind us and pointed it out to my wife. That’s when I got the shock of my life - I have had a reservation for the CT Beast for a very long time and she was not happy about it. The second she spotted it, she took off in a run (can’t even remember seeing my wife ever run) and she actually beat me there and was peppering the poor owner with a string of questions and taking pictures. He was very gracious and entertained her and allowed her to open it up and get a good look at everything. Now, I can’t get her to stop talking about it and she has become extremely impatient for it’s arrival (I can’t bare to tell her that it is well over a year out). So, not only are elementary school girls interested, so is at least one girl who hasn’t seen elementary school in over 60+ years. 😂😂😂😂

CYBERTRUCK will affect the major part of the pickup truck market. Most pickups are only used to haul or tow something 2-3 times a year. Most are just a daily vehicle that the sit up high and feel safe in. My wife loved how high our Ford Ranger we had for our vending business. In our neighborhood there are 10 pickups within the block. Of that only 2 are used as construction and are the very big trucks. Even that one of the employees drives his pickup truck to get the other truck and his truck never sees any of the dirt. Even my son who has always owned trucks from his first vehicle only uses it to haul just a few times a year, depending on the house projects. So the CYBERTRUCK was designed with this in mind. It is a vehicle that you can drive around daily not using up much power and still can tow quite a bit and has a bed that holds a sheet of plywood sitting flat.

Disruptive to what, exactly? It's just an oversized toy for a certain demographic in a certain country. Literally irrelevant to the mainstream and a huge waste of both engineering talent and materials, either for the commute, to get groceries and take the kids to school, or yeah, to 'be seen'. Here’s the thing about stainless steel. Stainless steel doesn’t like salt. If you live on the coasts in the salt air, expect some rusting. If you live where people put salt on ice then expect some rusting. It’s still better than bare steel though. But, the SS on the cyber truck is its whole SS surface is exposed, so any rust it picks up will be much more visible.
@brucehamilton3157Ай бұрын
Folks, stainless steel does rust. The most rust resistance SS is 316L. The Cybertruck is made from 304 SS, and it will develop rust spots. Also, strong acids or alkaline substances can cause discoloration, such as bird poop etc. Fortunately there are measures you can take to prevent this. You can paint or wrap the vehicle, or use my insider tip that l use on my SS appliances and Weber SS grill. WD40 - spray and wipe.
@longmuskox4194Ай бұрын
The composition changes depending on which body panel. There is copper in the front bumper that is not in the doors. The front bumper is 301 SS. The doors are likely 303. Slightly different for each panel.

I think a lot of Cybertruck skeptics overlook or undervalue the SUV nature of Cybertruck. It seems like the back seat is big enough for 3 teens or adults. Dirty Tesla said it was a perfect road trip vehicle because the Vault cover made it easy to grab specific things out of the storage area without opening the tailgate. With the lowering suspension, people who said "You won't be able to get anything out of the bed" seem to have nothing to complain about. Time will tell how trades, construction, lawncare, and trailer haulers take to Cybertruck. I'm glad to wait on CT right now, eager to see you guys try out FSD once it arrives for CT!

Now that is a good review, not good in the way that everything you said was good about it. It was good because everything you said was very informative. A mystery is very true comment. Quick story when I was a kid, my father worked for Chrysler and in the summer of 1965 he purchased a 1966 Dodge Charger for my sister. We drove from Greenbelt Maryland to Virginia Beach, Virginia. Back in the day until you didn’t see the new cars until they were released at the dealerships. People were going nuts over seeing this fastback on the road. Every time we stopped people got out of their card, walked off of the sidewalks to get a closer look. The Cybertruck is the very same thing. The future is now.

For the purposes of hauling and towing, CT is mathematically incapable of beating internal combustion trucks with similar load specs. Its battery weighs 722% more than the Diesel in a fully-fueled Ram 2500 Cummins, while the CT has ~1/3 the range while towing. The stainless steel is just as idiotic as it was on the Delorean. I've seen a few CT's in person, but I've never seen one that didn't look filthy.

Both the Cybertruck and the semi are at the bottom of their innovation curves. It’s not the same as the cars. They focused on a handful of key innovations and made do with tons of smaller aspects of the designs. And that goes double for the semi. Once the semi can drive with FSD, you no longer need the cabin for a driver so that massively affects the design. But imagine a Cybertruck with FSD... you don’t need the seats. You don’t need the dashboard. You don’t need windows. You might be able to have a Cybertruck that has cargo space from where the gas and brake pedals used to be all the way to the back. What is that? Instead of a 6 foot long cargo box you have space 12 or 14 feet long. That’s not an edge on the competition. That actually starts to go beyond our imagination, stuff we never even thought of for a cargo vehicle. It’s meant to be an inspiration from Blade Runner. But none of the sci fi flicks thought of this.

Agreed, the Cybertruck is so killer! The only thing is, I hope they can put the range extender down in the structural battery pack rather than in the bed. Right now, the Cybertruck will have to stop every 100 miles or so to charge when it's towing 11,000 lbs. If I'm on a road-trip, I usually stop every 3-4 hours or so which is anywhere from 200-300 miles, not every 100 miles. Stopping every 100 miles to charge a truck for half an hour will be so time consuming.
