The knock is the worst!! You never know what is on the other side. Our only knock was a Sherriff. He was super nice, he actually gave us GPS coordinates for a spot we could use. So helpful.

That's awesome. They should make that little card into a sign and post them in lots like Walmart!

Havent had the knock yet but I usually stay at truck stops and RV campsites. I haven't done much dry camping. I was fearful on my way up to Maine from Arizona though I stopped the night in Texas and ended up having to park in a mall parking lot and I was fearful all night that someone was going to knock but no one ever did

Fellow vanlifer fam here (still building, living in it part time when the conversion allows it, but traveling when we can). We live in the Philippines for now and unfortunately there are no Walmarts, Planet Fitness or their equivalent here. Vanlife is just getting started here so there are no campgrounds for nomads, but lots of campgrounds springing up, rarely free, catering to tent campers and car campers, away from cities. What would you advice for security measures? We got ourselves some pepper spray and might get a junior sized baseball bat. Sending love from the Philippines!

I'm curious if you were at Lake Havasu or Fort Mojave Walmart?... Fort Mojave has had the ordinance since before that Walmart was built..the enforcement was off /on and miserable if on. Would be nice to know they've evolved. Last I was in the area it seemed Bullhead city would pass the ordinance too... Love this more live and let live approach.. Beautiful!
