First of all: thank you for the lovely content ❤️👍! A quick suggestion: as a fellow coarse stranded, low-po curly, I have to skip the conditioner phase and go straight to deep-conditioning. All conditioners leave a thin film of product over my hair, which blocks the deep-conditioner from optimally penetrating. I find it easy enough to detangle with most deep-co's, so this actually saves me an extra step.

Maybe more water,more product,more sections.?♥️ beautiful hair.
@shelunknown44523 жыл бұрын
Your hairs beautiful. I’m thinking since it has gotten fuller and longer maybe if you were to section your hair into quadrants the products would absorb evenly. I have learned on my curly journey my back curls are tighter so it may be that the back area needs more sprayed water alternating with product. I feel like a good mousse in combination with gel usage would get it popping and defined for the results you want. Twists also allow for a more stretched look but I add Bobby pins carefully and blow dry cool/warm and take the pins out once completely dry. Much love 💕 😀🌺

I hate when a styler leaves me with a frizzy, undefined wash and go😫 All that work for nothing. I enjoy Briogeo's deep conditioners, but I'm scared to try out their stylers. Great review♥️
@curlelia3 жыл бұрын
Girl same!! What helps is that I can help you guys along the way.. but I don't think I'll be retrying these stylers. The hold just wasn't there! We'll just have to stick to their shampoo, conditioner, and masks! 😭

Thank you for the honest review. I'm a subscriber and will continue to watch you for your honest feedback. I have type 3b/3c hair and the leave-in conditioner didn't work for me at all. I threw it out after the 2nd try. I thought it was just me but seeing your results gave me a flashback to what my hair looked like. I was debating trying the gel since I try to support black owned brands, but I think I will look for another option instead. I do like the Briogeo deep conditioners/masks. The Kiwi one is perfection!
@curlelia3 жыл бұрын
Awe thank you for your support! No, you're not alone. I MIGHT try the leave in with another gel, but I'm not even sure if it's worth it. I think it's perfect for those with a looser curl pattern and curls that don't require as much hold as ours. The Briogeo deep conditioners are definitely unmatched! I LOVE them!

@gennijackson33172 жыл бұрын
I totally get it. When washing it was so defined and so moisturizing. For the day it was fine but definitely doesn't last for multiple days. Also I noticed as the week progressed my hair felt so dry and my scalp seems so flaky and dry 😞. My scalp hasn't been this flaky or dry mind you I've been using curlsmith for a year.

for curl carisma line, i really like the coil custard. i noticed i need to add a lot of water for the product to set in my curls and add wet line extreme gel then it lasts for 4/5 days with a lot of definition (for context: we have similar hair [ 3c/4a] and most of the the products you like work well for me) the other stylers in the curl carisma line didn’t work for me either
@curlelia3 жыл бұрын
Ouuuuu okay thank you for sharing that! They didn't send that over, but I may have to check it out based on this review you're giving me! I really wanted to love their stylers, but maybe this coil custard is it!

I condition before I deep condition as well because I notice that my hair comes out better. Then you have Moknowshair who says the deep conditioner is absolutely not getting into your hair if you condition first. You really just have to do what works. Love the cut btw!
@curlelia3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure how that theory of the mask not getting into your hair makes sense. The only way I can see that being the case is if you use a conditioner with non water soluble silicones! Thank you btw! 💕
@shari-leedavis15763 жыл бұрын
@@curlelia moknowshair says that once you’ve conditioned your hair, it lays and seals your cuticle. So deep conditioning after that makes no sense and you’re essentially wasting product and she’s a licensed cosmetologist. So you either condition or deep condition, never both on the same wash day
@teneshabailey94763 жыл бұрын
@@shari-leedavis1576 agreed. you actually save way more time on wash day using one or the other, as opposed to both. I for one like to save my time AND money.
@CreoleKing19863 жыл бұрын
@@shari-leedavis1576 Mo is a licensed cosmetologist, but I know PLENTY of licensed cosmetologist who have screwed up mine and other people's hair, so I don't put much stock in that. She gives some great tips but all of them don't work for everyone. I have tried it both ways and my hair behaves much better when I do both. Also she says that products that contain protein but aren't a "protein treatment" can be used by anyone at anytime (many of her products have protein in them). I tried that tip against my better judgment because it has caused me problems in the past and once again I was left with hard, unruly hair. Some people are sensitive to protein, and that's just what it is. As I always say, you have to do what works for you, and it is YOUR hair after all, so if you can maintain it in a way that makes you happy and allows you to reach your hair goals, then why would we dishonor God by going against that lol (Tabitha Brown voice).
@curlelia3 жыл бұрын
I agree with @CreoleKing on this one. I'm sure knows that she's talking about, but with hair- it's not a one size fits all. So what works for me may not work for you, and vice versa! I've also spoken to multiple licensed cosmetologists about this and they agree that there are no cons to using conditioner before deep conditioning. Now like I said, if the conditioner is loaded with silicones and harsh ingredients that form a film on your hair- any product used afterwards would most likely be pointless. Now, if using one or the other works best for you- that's perfect, I agree you're definitely saving on product! My hair would just use up wayyyy too much of a deep conditioner or masque if I solely used that to detangle/deep condition. I'll never tell anyone what they should do with their hair, I just share what I do and what works best for me.

I had the same issue with the curl charisma leave in. I used it to style my hair and it just didn't feel right. My hair felt like it was drying up and even though I used my denman brush to style my hair, I had so little definition when my hair dried and it became a ball of frizz when I went outside.
