@@ck4139 I cannot even tell you! At first it looked like it didn't work but then, in one night, they just shot out. I managed to harvest once a week from just 13 baby onions. So much so that I freeze dried some for later. And because I am a bit of a nerd I did a cost to yield ratio analysis. Yield at 88%!

@@marciak4415 I was able to harvest 5 times at very good yield. I planted 13 baby onions into the bottle, fed organic fertilizer weekly. A bushel of green onion in the supermarket is about R15, so I've harvested about R75 worth at an initial cost of around R5 plus labour and love. Second batch of sweet brown onions on their way . . . .

My mom taught me the trick of putting an onion on top of a open wide mouth bottle filled with water with the bottom half dipped in the bottle. Like how you're doing it to describe the growth. It's simple enough and it gives me the green head. Helps when you need some green seasonings and you're on lockdown. Lol
