You did get very lucky, It could have been way worse, mine blew out on a 3 lane in New Orleans, struck some small object in the road and blew to pieces wiping out my hood, mirrors etc. Lost 2 days of work, and after I paid for new tire I still had deductible on collision insurance to cover and missing two prebooked loads. But I got lucky too, because I was on an overpass and the cement curb that chewed up my wheel lugs kept me going straight. If it would have happened off the overpass I would not have been able to hold it back from going into the oncoming lane. That would have been horrible

I would invest in a wheel if it was a wheel issue, but it has been tire problems and unfortunate incidents with the tires that was the issue.

Steer tires are the last place I would put them lol. Trailer tires I would probably go for it.

I have worked in the tire industry for over 40 years and can tell you that heat is a tire worse emeny . It looked to me most of the tire is under the fender. this could cause the tire to overheat. is there anyway you can direct some air onto the tire ? With 5 or 6 tires failures something is going on.

I appreciate the concern, but the mystery is solved. We know exactly why each tire got replaced. They were a series of unfortunate events that lead to a ridiculous amount of tires being replaced in the time we’ve had the truck. We also monitor the tire pressures actively which would show overheating if there was any.

That’s cool that the Technician mentioned that to you guys and saved you guys cash. That issue with the tires on the steers maybe an alignment issue if one of the tires are wearing out weirdly. Stay safe guys and keep the shiny side up and the rubber side down.
