Yes, it was a DMV. I lived about a half a mile from the mall between 2009 and 2015. I got my driver's license renewed there in 2010. Next door to the left if you were looking into the DMV, was a sheriff's office.

Grew up in this mall, every weekend chasing skirts around the mall, checking out The Finish Line, Champs Sports, K.B Toys grabbing up that old silly string, and many other stores. Hated to see my childhood demolished.. Still drive by the old site every day heading to work and it just brings back so many childhood memories.

I grew up going to Westland Mall. I actually delivered mail there once in a while as a carrier on the west side but they built Tuttle Mall in the Hillier Dublin area that put Westland and all the other malls like Eastland out of business. Had a place called demetrios Pizza that was really good there. Berman's leather shop I got my clothes and orange julius who got the best shakes ever. Took my kids there in 92 or 93 had their pictures taken and put on a coffee cup.

Just found your channel and I love it. I’m from Virginia and I’ve gotten to go to OH a few times in Columbus and Lorain but unfortunately I was there for work and wasn’t able to explore. I definitely felt crazy vibes being out there compared to VA though. There was always something wild in the news taking place near where I was at when I was out there.

10:25 was a dmv, there was a side office for the sheriffs office, it was down towards Lazarus, (white building with silver glass on the outside) where the dmv was when you walked in, you would turn left, and continue down. i was in the dmv with my dad in 2011. that was the only place that was there, except a gnc in the mall, westland Mall was a popular mall back in the 70's and 80's

We have a similar mall here in Houston called Greenspoint Mall. It's out by Intercontinental Airport in far north Houston. The locals called it "Gunspoint Mall." I don't think I need to explain why. LOL HPD won't even go back into some of those neighborhoods behind that mall. It was closed in 2023 and I heard they're going to demolish it and build apartments. The entire area is still known as Gunspoint though.

There was a BMV they were trying to save the mall so they were letting pretty much anyone rent. It did change over to a Sheriff office . I remember that cause we had board of elections class in the empty store right beside it back in 2010. They demo'd almost all of it except for the JC Penny building and the Sears and Sears auto
