I’m 52, I have been going to the Dells since I was about 2. I love it there. The water parks are nice as well as the boat and Duck tours. But if you get off the strip and away from the hotels and water parks the Dells truly is a beautiful place. We stayed at the campground right next to witches gulch and rented a boat for 4 hours. If anyone wants to go don’t get caught up in all the touristy things, instead plan on 2 things either the Ducks or a boat tour and a water park or similar. Great video and channel, I think you just earned a new subscriber!

Ps! I should LOVE if you could make a stop in Cambridge, where my great-great-great-grandfather Ovren Mikkelson settled in 1871 with four kids and a ton of grandchildren:-) He and his family became metodists there, and joined the Methodist church. I had never heard about John Wesley, but thanks to my great forefather I read up on Wesley this year, and now I soon know all about Wisconsin too:-) One year ago I didn't even know where Wisconsin were, and now I'm preparing for my life's great trip there! And now you came with your fantastic videos from Wisconsin, like Manna from Heaven;-)

Camped at Devil’s Lake state park as a kid when I was 10. Hike around the lake several time ten. Returned some 25 years later after we moved to Florida with our kids. Great memories with them. Now we are retiring next year and cannot wait to do it again in our sixties. Really enjoy your weekly videos and adventures.

Wow! With Wisconsin Dells with its numerous theme parks and entertainment centers there will be no problem to convince my girls to join me for Wisconsin looking for the traces of my forefather Ovren Mikkelson:-) They only wanted to go to New York, Los Angeles and Florida, but with the best water world's in Wisconsin, they will understand that Wisconsin is not just a boring rural state, like Toten where we live, and where Ovren Mikkelson lived his whole life until the age of 73!

Reading up on Wisconsin Dells after your visit there, I found the famous landscape photographer Henry Hamilton Bennett:-) I'll visit his museum when we go there, as I'm a passionate landscape photographer myself, and now I photograph the places of Ovren Mikkelson, to show to my relatives. I have a portfolio, but as I know KZbin doesn't like links, I'll break it: (Wow, here the broken link was, but KZbin still spotted it and deleted the comment. Well, it's to be found in my About though.) My youngest girl already is enthusiastic on visiting the largest water world in the entire world. I tell her the water world in Wisconsin is 100.000 times bigger than the water world here, and she LOVES bathing:-)

Wow!!! so much beauty and fun!!! can you tell me , as two 60 somthings considering RVing for the first time, are there break-ins when leaving your RV in parking lots? or at camp sites. is this a concern?do they have security at some camp sites? how do you find the safest ones? Our concern is being robbed or victemized. Thank you for answering this!!

@tishamonroe74183 жыл бұрын
caravan sounds like fun! But we would be solo . at least until we met some RVers to travel with.Have you heard of break-ins to RVs? I am wondering if leaving a $150,000. rig in a parking lot all day when you hike or bike....get back to find ? or worse your rig is gone.
@EatSeeRV3 жыл бұрын
We've never had issues or felt concerns anywhere. There are RVs everywhere expensive and not. We've found crimes are often targeted because of opportunity. Don't out yourself in opportunistic situations for theft. But it's honestly not even a concern for us. We've parked in the woods, in parking lots, in neighborhoods, and campgrounds.

This used to be the swimming pool of the Nephilim (giants). Erosion could not create the Devils Lake phenomenon. These formations are giants stacking blocks. Water under the stabilizing rock would knock that sh*t over in less than a minute. These are precisely placed stones

As someone who lives near the Dells, let me just say that this is the place to go if you are looking for anything touristy, overpopulated campgrounds and other establishments and just rude and mean people. The prices are obviously higher and no one there even know what the term "Dells" means anymore. The environment here has been forsaken for tourism and is probably better off avoided by anyone seeking a pleasant experience.
