I am so happy that you were able to get the big items done before the end of the season. It is great that you have power, water, and sceptic system. I cannot wait to see the progress in 2023.

This septic system is a big, and very important, part of the of the overall build.😉

Absolutely! Getting these utilities in is critical. It's a thing that most people buying homes don't even think about, but it has such a huge impact on the build for us.

Congrats on the progress: doing the "retrospective" at the end was nice. What's the plan for on top of the leach field: turf, or native meadow species? (You mentioned seeding it)

Thank you! We spoke with a local wildflower seed farmer and bought two seed mixes - one annual and one perennial, both containing low grow wildflowers whose roots won't interfere with the operation of the septic leach field. Per their recommendation, we seeded once last fall just before the first snow, and once this spring in early May. The annuals will give us some color until the perennials emerge too. The results are absolutely stunning! In the last month or so we've watched the bare soil flourish with beautiful wildflowers, the colors changing weekly as new flowers bloom. In fact, it's so pretty that we bought some more seeds and spread them down the sides of the driveway to give us some splashes of color there too. Elsewhere on the property we'll probably use a combination of clover and / or wildflowers rather than grass in a lot of places. Much prettier, and better for wildlife too.
