Unless our Norwegian friend means "skillful" or "intensely competitive" when he talks about being a "menace?" But who knows, maybe Ethan was a dick and was going around injuring every training partner he rolled with up at TriStar 7 years ago? Possible, but I doubt it--probably a few bruisers training at that gym that would've tuned him up for that kind of behavior. It's fortunate that it's the ankle (among joints, the ankle has relatively good recovery even if ligaments are torn and can heal naturally). Ethan didn't mean to twist it to the point of breaking; he just intended to twist it enough to get a tap, but it seems like a popping sound occurred. I hope it heals well.

@jutosgrindАй бұрын
Usually I disagree with this, because you should expect that the consequence of not tapping to a black belt should not be that he breaks your limbs, since a black belt should know when it gets dangerous and can just let go or slowly force the tap, but this one is just stupid. In fairness, as a black belt you should have enough self control to not break a dudes leg, and if the guy doesnt tap you should be the bigger man and just let go and walk away, its not like anyone made money besides clowning on the guy on youtube.
@DeepsGnomeАй бұрын
Nah. That's not how it works. You let white belts go if they don't tap, because they didn't know any better. But this guy is trying to prove he is a brown belt. A purble belt, let alone a brown belt should know to tap, and he had a good 5 seconds to tap, and he didn't. That shows he's not at all ready for brown. Ethan gave him plenty of time to tap. You could see he was slowly applying more pressure over time, to give him the opportunity to tap. His fault, not Ethan's
@007-e7uАй бұрын
Nah, Ethan should have self control and should not have broken his friend’s leg on camera when they were just fooling around about a fictional promotion.
@kybalion848Ай бұрын
I mean he put that modified estima lock on as slowly as possible.
@DeepsGnomeАй бұрын
@@007-e7u fooling around? He was told if he gets a point on a black belt, he would get his brown belt. He was actively rolling, and it was probably why he didn't tap. If he was just fooling around, he most likely wouldn't tapped to a submission on an ankle. But he really wanted that brown which is why he didn't want to tap. And before you say it's "fictional" many gyms do this when someone requests a promotion. The coach will point out one of he's best competitors, and tell them if they win they can get the belt. I've seen it happen for someone who wanted their purple. A guy wanted his purple, because he thought he deserved it. The guy convincingly beat one of the best purple belts in the gym, and he got promoted on the spot.
@balt356229 күн бұрын
@kybalion848 the point I'm getting at is anyone worth their grain of salt knows the flexion on those joints means its about to break.
