We had to drop the transmission, and Harbor Freight trans jack "review".

Frankie is making some horrible noises from the flywheel area. I am changing the torque converter and flywheel to attempt to fix the issue.
I am also testing Harbor Freights' "cheap" transmission jack.

I realized that I was bending the base by putting the safety strap too tight, but you need to put it tight.

Hello I was curious how well the super duty axle mounted up on the truck. I have an 86 Chevy with a dodge kingpin 60 and the driveshaft angle is so bad I can’t get a shaft to work with it. I’ve sourced the ford axle and will be using a 205 case from a ford. Unfortunately I can’t use a divorce case because it’s a short bed and I have no room. Please let me know. I’m hoping to us the radius arm brackets already on the axle and either use radius arms or four link arms from Barnes or ruffstuff

If your Dodge axle is low pinion, it will be very difficult with a lot of lift. In the early 2000's, people would cut the center section (the pumpkin) and roll it up to get a better angle. Over the years we all realize that is not good. The better way is to pull the tubes out of the pumpkin and set the angle you want, then push the tubes back in. That is VERY difficult. I believe the ford axle is a superior axle. The ball joints or weaker, but there is a ball joint delete kit that will fix that issue (If you wanted). The brakes, axle tubes, and high pinion are all better. Using the radius arms it a good idea if you want to make it "quick". Radius arms are very strong and work very well on the street. The pinion angle is "hard" to set. You will have to lower or raise the mounting bracket on the frame to set the pinion axle. I am currently working on a 1981 K10 (Bob) with a super duty dana 60. I cut off all the radius arm brackets so I could try my hand at a 3 link suspension. I have taken a 3 month break from it because the Louisiana heat is a killer, but it's cooling off now. I will be back at it very soon!

@@ReshardsAutomotiveWorkshop thanks so much for the reply. It was too much lift on a 12” spring. I had a custom driveshaft built but the cv was still binding. I took it back to the shop and they went out of business! Never got the driveshaft or my money back.

I used the same jack to remove my th350 and np203 from my 76 k10. This jack sucks! Buy the more expensive hydraulic it’s well worth the cost.
