Thank goodness for the National Health Service in the UK. All prescriptions are free from the doctor and cost about £9 from the Pharmacy. We are so lucky. Glad you’re all sorted Brittany xxx
@dancebasedancer3 жыл бұрын
And I know it's not a competition, but in Scotland we don't pay for prescriptions at all, so it's free to go to the doctor and then your prescription is also free from the pharmacy. I can't believe what goes on in America. So terrible for those who are economically vulnerable...
@Bearandblanky3 жыл бұрын
Wow, didn’t know meds’ were totally free, I still think £9 is good when you think about what others pay. . Either way, we are both really lucky. It’s like me driving to Scotland just to get my medicine. X
@dancebasedancer3 жыл бұрын
Yes, quite agree, £9 IS still good! And in fact you wouldn't be able to use your prescription if you came up here, because you wouldn't have a Scottish NHS number! But the thing is, really this is also good, because it means that the NHS can't be manipulated, & that getting good healthcare doesn't depend on financial status

The US medical system is terrible... I always feel so badly hearing how families can’t afford basic care. Watching this is crazy. Here in Canada it’s so easy for us to take prescriptions and healthcare for granted. It’s never at the top of your mind in Canada when you’re ill.. can I afford this? No system is perfect, every countries healthcare has their flaws but the US is so messed up compared to other countries. Thank goodness you were able to get everything you needed and that you’re safe. ❤️🇨🇦

My Dad paid $300 for an inhaler when he didn’t have insurance, once. The prescription and medical costs in America is down right shameful. My mom snow birds and ALWAYS get a years worth of meds every-time. Brittany, I too have been living with asthma most of my adult life. I wanted to caution you that albuterol is meant to be to be used as a rescue inhaler, limited to only occasional use. If you are using it on a regular basis, I would strongly recommend you work with an asthma doc to get on a corticosteroid regime such as Advair or Breo, also inhaled but in powder form. Long term frequent albuterol use can cause serious health issues. I sympathize with your plight, not being able to breath freely is disconcerting and scary, but I worry for your long term health if you need the rescue inhaler on a regular basis. I maybe use mine once or twice a year.

@@Mrandmrsadventure the USA healthcare consumer pays for all pharmaceutical research & development when they buy their meds at the pharmacy. This is why meds developed in USA are a bargain everywhere else, because R&D is paid for by USA consumers. Drugs are dirt cheap in Mexico for that reason and these sales are looked at as icing on the cake to the USA pharma companies. It is a scam but FDA has it fucked up and it will never be fixed because of internal corruption. Biden will make it worse with Medicare for ALL! If you live in the USA you are part of the problem. 🤷♂️

@kregyung10413 жыл бұрын
@@amyseaden9069 do you pay for your medicine or is it funded through socialized medicine in Canada? If you pay out of pocket at the pharmacy, then that’s Canada’s form of socialized healthcare. Undoubtedly Canadians pay higher income tax than United States Americans to fund their healthcare. Everyone pays in the end. Either a tax out of your paycheck or out of your pocket to insurance companies. It’s a wash. Of course, unless you live below the federal poverty line. Haha life is a joke stop taking yourselves so seriously. The global economy is about to be turned upside down over the worthless US dollar

Try this. I got adult onset asthmatic bronchitis and couldn't breathe every now and then just like that for years. It could be trigger by anything. Lungs felt so weak. Weezing when breathing. Never wanted to resort to inhalers preacribed. Buy organic spinach and oj, blend in a blender and drink several times a day. Also asked doctor to and was prescribed augmentin. Helped to get rid of persistent lung bacteria. Put rest of juice in fridge. Iron and folic acid opened up my airways and after a couple of months doing this, it got much better. To this day, nearly 10 yrs later, no more asthma. Never felt so good to no longer have breathing problems.

Hi Britney, I have asthma still sometimes as an adults, mostly in winter. In the situation I can't find my pump, I have a eucalyptus shower you can buy the leaves hang them up in the shower and the smell will going to the air for you to breath in. If you do not have this you can buy Vicks VapoRub which you can buy anywhere including convenience shops in any country this is great if you put it on your chest your wrists and if you are happy to do so you can put it a little bit on your nose and tiny bit on your or cupid's bow and abov. The smell and warming sensation will help to open your lungs which helps extremely when I find that my breathing is erratic and sounds wheezy like yours does. Also you can rub it on the plastic rims of the the the air extractors in the cab turn on the heat breathe in deeply and it will open your lungs. Xx

Thank you so much for this!! My grandma used to rub Vicks on my chest when I was little (I remember really not liking it) but I hadn't thought to use it for asthma! I really don't prefer using the inhaler/chemicals, so this is a wonderful alternative solution to remember, thank you ❤️

Don’t post often, we subscribed and watch videos on smart TV, but the offer about vacationing. Every two years we camp our way thru America. Starting in Cincinnati, we travel to Indy, Chicago, and then westward along I-90. Being disabled, I use the Access Pass for discounted camping in National Parks and other various Federal lands. We visit many locations along the north corridor to Seattle. Then we travel south, visiting many locations such as Mt St Helens, Crater Lake and such, down into the redwood forests, and along coast line to SF. Then we head to Sequoia, Kings Canyon, Yosemite and Death Valley before heading to Las Vegas. Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon before heading towards the Alamo, and eventually New Orleans. Then along the Gulf Coast until Florida. After Florida, we head up thru the Smokey Mtns before returning to Cincy. This past year, 2020, we went straight west thru Kansas, Denver and boondocking thru Utah. This spring break, taking children up to the Adirondack Mtns to Ticonderoga, NY., stopping at Niagara Falls. But this summer, wanted to circumvent America again.

I'm in AZ so the drive to Mexico is no big deal although for scripts, it just wouldn't be worth the hassle. For dental, that's different, but regular scripts? No. I guess you got to weigh it out cost wise of travel, crossing border, etc. I dunno. If something cost $60 and it takes at least $40 to get into Mexico, gas, etc. Then the risk of crossing. Thank God she was able to have one child and she’s doing good. I don’t understand why America is so expensive and why they have better treatments in Mexico than they do in United States this is very disheartening. Especially elderly people that they have to choose between their medicine and food it’s sad American needs to step up and treat their citizens better. We need better options here in the United States you shouldn’t have to go across the border. But I’m glad you got your medicine it’s awesome.

She can fly there, get the dental work done, and stay a week with friends, and have a vacation, and we still save money from what it would cost us here. I personally love Mexico and have been to over 30 towns. I have always felt safe, and love the people. It is a shame the cartels have given Mexico such a bad reputation. Hopefully some day the Mexican government will get that problem solved. Hopefully the US will get its mass shooting problem solved also.

Incredible! This makes us happy that you feel this way and we have had wonderful interactions with locals. We think Mexico has many hidden gems and is safe when following common sense and being aware of one's surroundings.

John DeCriscio We don't have a "mass shooting" problem. It's too bad that people believe the propaganda, even IN America. Nothing on the news is real, events are scripted for the TV, etc. So, there is no mass shooting problem in the US, unless maybe if you live in the hood in Chicago or PA. But that's a cultural and again, a political, issue.

I really enjoyed this video. so surprised that you don't need a pcr test to get back into the states. We just got back from Puerto Vallarta in January right when our gov't instituted the pcr test rule (while we were in Mexico) Then two weeks of quarantine 🇨🇦 So glad you got your inhalers and for such a good price !!

Yes, strange how the rules work for flying vs land boarder crossings.

It's insane that you have to travel so far to get your Ventolin. :(

Asthma can be scary. I haven't needed long term control medications yet, only a rescue inhaler. HEPA filters have really helped me. I hope you get/keep your asthma under control.

Britney I totally know what you're talkin about when I was five I got diagnosed with acute bronchial asthma where my bronchial cord would shrink to a quarter the size of normal anytime that I exercised... I can't remember how many times I had to be rushed to the ER for the epinephrine shot... one Saving Grace for myself as as I got older I outgrew it obviously being older now I don't exercise as much but I can totally relate to you needing that rescue inhaler... In fact my older sister who's close to 50 still needs her rescue inhaler it's in between the seats in her car...anyway thankyou for sharing im glad you got your drugs😋 and im suuuper glad Drew was allowed in As tiny as you are i would be worried that someone would snatch you up!You the maan Drew!💪😎😁✌❤❤

That was really cool. Loved the info. The only medicine I take is my stupid thyroid meds but it’s not the synthetic stuff cuz it makes me sick. I have to take the desiccated porcupine stuff 😮 insurance won’t cover it but you need a prescription because it’s a more highly regulated dosage than the other options. It’s freaking 96.00 a bottle (3 month supply). Wonder if they sell it in Mexico 😮😮. I’m only 4600 miles away round trip 😂 😂
