We had to Leave for our health - motorhome trip to Spain

Our day trip to Gandia beach is cut short and we have to leave for our health.
Gandia beach is the most beautiful beach we've seen on this trip, and although we had planned to walk its length our plans get cut short due to a very scarey incident, which quickly change our minds.

Lovely beach gandia another gem to visit and your right about wild fires 🔥 they can travel fast I remember when I was in Lincolnshire fire brigade when a field fire changed direction with the wind and we had to move the fire engine 🚒 and outrun the fire scary 😮 good point about where we all park our motorhomes with the dry conditions in Spain 🇪🇸 enjoy the sun guys 😎😎👍

Sound advice fireman Redders . Us old Redders's have been coming down here for over 35 years and have seen the devastation wind fires can do and there really is no season . It can take out a campsite in minutes and indeed we've seen the results when a wildfire went through a site we used at Capmanay . People were out at the local lake and came back to nothing . We were at a site and were on standby to leave . And indeed we were diverted off the AP 7 in January due to wild fires , so yes , very good advice . Hi Corrin Paul Dolly and Pippa. Quite a fire you witnessed. We were at the camp around from the fire and didn’t see smell or hear anything. We had spent the Monday in Gandia shopping and visiting Borja stuff. When we left on Tuesday we passed by and the fire brigade was still in attendance. It had devastated quite a few fields trees and bushes at the side of the road. We are now South of Valencia in Devesa Gardens a beautiful camp. We would love to stay but it’s fully booked up. We are heading into the mountains again as they seem to always have space for us. Enjoy your next journey and new camp. Stay safe Katrina Pierre and Tasha 😘

Great info again, we arrived bin dieppe today,but might have to go home ,we fitted a new fresh water pump yesterday, and bled it through, but now can't get ai😊r out-of the system, and as we don't do many campsites,we are lost without hotvwater,anyway keep blogging,cheers.

So guys what a visit , so good to see it all again ,bar none the best beach in Spain. But as I have said in July and AUGUST you would struggle to walk along the waters edge for people just along the edge of the walkway you get sand artists some of them will blow your mind with what you can sculpt out of sand. The roundabout you got turned back on is the rd to xeraco where we had our apartments. There is a very good campsite there as well.The wind is called the “mistral “and comes most days and is very welcome in the 40 plus degs it gets to in July and august.many thanks for going there so so many happy memories of our time there with our family. Ps don’t tell to many people about it 👍😆

The rain has been low the last 4 yrs. Most of it is due to El Nino at the moment. Never wild camp near conifers or eucalyptus trees. We live on the coast and we regularly watch the fire planes picking up sea water.

Yes it is unusually warm isn’t it, which is why we descend to the sun ☀️ the plane seemed to be heading off to the mountains for water , I did think it was odd with the sea there , but it did seem quite busy in the shipping lanes … ❤️

Hi guys, Gandia beach is stunning, I bet it's packed in the summer but how beautiful out of season! The wildfires seem so early but we've been reading about the water shortages, you have to be ready to change directions and modify plans and really good advice to consider where you're pitching up. Wild fires , contra to popular belief, are not that often even here in very dry Andalusia nevertheless, things are very bad so everyone needs to not use a lot of water. Being aware is a good thing. Safe journey ❤❤❤

Good weather, good beach, and good food and vlog, as for fires you hear many people say they'd do this and that 🥺🤔, for me it's get out the way and leave to the professionals, it moves fast and can be out of control in a very short time, I'd have to agree with the 💩 being runny due to her being off colour, thanks for the Dave shout out was a total surprise. Up to you whether you eat the whole fish. I personally don’t. I take the head off, dip in garlic mayonnaise (alioli), while holding by the tail which I then discard too. 🥴I am squeamish. La plants is grilled over an open fire. Enjoy. Blue and Bo send woofs to your girls. Xx 🫶🏻💫

Im glad you had a chance to see Gandia Beach as I was disappointed you missed it on the way down. Far more up market than Benidorm. Im sure you were not in any real danger, the Spanish fire fighters are well trained.

Just thinking aloud, water bombing is a blunt instrument so, depending on the surroundings vegetation and wildlife, might they have been loading sweet water? Or was the sea state too rough for safe scooping!

I can only assume they had direct access to a lake , the sea was calm enough, but quite a bit of shipping activity , or maybe wind played a part in the approach , tough conditions met with a great response by the local servicio de Bomberos 🚒🚒❤️👍

The direction of the aircraft approach/departure will be dictated by the wind, especially if its as strong as what it appeared to be. If you bomb into the wind the forward throw of the water is less, so more of the water goes where you want it. Also, departing into the wind after bombing will provide more lift at slow speed. Mind you, they were using PBY Catalina's the last time I was there, and they have loads of lift, so this last point may be moot.

Lol. That’s how good fish should taste 😂 We had a fish meal once in Spain and the waiter carried out a post-mortem on its head when we had finished. Removed two plates of ivory 🙄 & gave them to the wife to have them made into jewellery. Only fish in the med with ivory ( didn’t know) thought it was a bit pricey 😂

We ate at the same restaurant as you guys in Denia today, I had the anchovies, and very nice indeed, I can confirm bums n eyes were removed lol. We showed a screenshot of you with Dolly to the same waitress, she was tickled pink!

Sardine type fish. Small normally eat whole large take head and tail off but it matters not. You had swordfish. All those meaty type fish don't have a fishy taste, tuna steak being another.

Paella - pronounce it P I A Y A - double is pronounced like a Y - takes some getting used to lol As for boquerones we eat them whole, also very good for dogs, so if you don’t eat all of them the dogs will love them And your swordfish looked lovely , my wife’s favourite
