I love your videos and the chilled out enjoyment of the outdoors. There are days where we all sometimes push big miles in order to get somewhere, but it may come at the cost of enjoying the moment. I was also in North Cascades a few weeks ago and the smoke in some areas was bad. A lot of trails to the north were closed. I went over Easy Pass and down Fisher Creek and it was smoke free on day 1. Day 2 got a little smokey but day 3 was better. North Cascades is incredible. Can't wait to go back to see more.

It's too bad you caught just the few days that happened to be smoky this year. We've had an incredible summer! I was actually hiking the thru hike of the Enchantments just east of you when those evacuations were happening on that Saturday. The strong wind blew all the smoke away from Leavenworth and us that day and we hiked with beautiful clear skies. We did see the plume of smoke from the top of Aasgard pass. Had to go the long way home the next day on 90 because of the 2 being closed. I hope you come back. Western Washington is incredible.

We have been dealing with fires every year. Our hiking and climbing season is so short as it is, but the fires reduce it even more. Baker Lake! I live a few miles from there! Go up Park Butte/ Railroad Grade, it's a great hike! Of course you are probably gone by now... If you are ever up this way again I can point you to some epic climbs and hikes....

Great video as always you guys! Wondering how reliable you’ve found Starlink so far? The coverage map looks a little spotty through the west coast states. Can you leave the satellite dish out in the rain too? Keep up the amazing work, you guys are crazy inspiring ❤

There are lots of places to go in Washington State away from the fires that you can do pretty much any outdoor thing you like. I moved here 30 years ago and everything I do is outdoors and the fires never stop me from getting outdoors. As a long time trail correspondent for Washington Trail Association I have been all over the state. There is climbing all over the state. Go over to Leavenworth and climb up Icicle Creek Road. Olympic National Park on the peninsula has lots of climbing such as Steeple Peak. Mount Stuart in Alpine Lakes Wilderness. Climbing here is endless and fires should never sway you away from Washington State. I chose to move here after visiting in 1990 and have never regretted it.

Ouu question about your internet! If you travel a lot, within your own state/provide and across the country, will you have problems? I plan on doing a long trip down south, but idk if I'll be able to hook up internet with starlink, nor, if starlink is even worth it
@codyandvictoria Жыл бұрын
Starlink works pretty much everywhere that is not a major city. Doesn’t matter which state we go to.

Hey guys, awesome vid. I have a question about your decision to get the promoter. You guys snowboard, so what is your plan in the winter? I know the promoter is FWD so it will handle better in snow and ice than RWD., but will you add on snow tires or will you just chain up if conditions get really slick? I ask because my husband and I are powder chasers in CA, OR, and WA and have a 4x4 van but it's slowly dying so we need to upgrade. I'm just trying to gather intel on how you guys plan on handling adverse winter conditions with the promoter. Thanks!
@codyandvictoria2 жыл бұрын
Most likely we’ll chain up and prob add some more all-terrain type tires. 4x4 would be nice but man it is NOT cheap
