VAN LIFE TOUR of the most gorgeous and functional DIY van conversion you’ve ever seen / Hidden van life shower 🚿/ Full van life roof deck 🔨 / Glamping at its finest 🍾
We’ve been living in our van (Napoleon), full-time for over a year and there is not a single thing we’d change about the layout. It’s roomy and built for as much comfort as one could ask for while technically living in the vehicle. Everything you see, from the walls to leather pull tabs we built ourselves - looks like you CAN learn anything on youtube!
Our van has a full queen-size bed installed with Flarespace van flares (so you don’t have to make or build your van life bed every night), cozy bench seating for five people comfortably, plus a swivel seat captains chair, and plenty of room for activities we love - like playing games, watching movies, family meals, and dancing on the roof deck.
We splurged on a robust power system (4 x 170 amp hour lithium batteries) so that our van life build is 100% solar powered and can still run a double burner induction cooktop and air fryer - no propane needed. Our 115 liter Isotherm Fridge/Freezer and 40 gallon water tank allow us enough food and water storage to go off-grid for nearly two weeks.

Lol We can assure you we weren't aiming to deceive anyone with the title. We've seen a lot of DIY builds and do strongly believe ours is one of the best if not the best we've seen. We've also got a pretty insane power system and amenities that we feel make it pretty lux... As lux as it can be living in a car. It all really is just a matter of opinion anyways and we do want to hear more perspectives. So thank you for letting us know how you feel about it! We hope you stick around 🙂

Love the closet! And that pullout is not something I've seen in a closet before - great idea for all the products that clutter countertops and shelves, or roll around and spill contents in drawers. The custom cabinets are beautiful! Love the toilet 👍 and how the shower curtain gets pulled up by a shower rod instead of lots of hooks to connect. Thank you for sharing!

Anytime you customize your space you love it more. They are pleased with their ingenuity. They designed it to their needs, perfect. My kitchens usually become custom once i start cooking. The counter drops about 5 inches. Storage for less used things. Handy tools for cooking and such are needed to be easy access. You have it all,

I just started researching vans this year. I’ve watched over 50 videos… and your van IS THE BEST!! 🤘🥳 I love all the space and new/original ideas that I haven’t seen before. (Most videos I see have 1 original idea tops.) You have a cover for your stove, magnetic jars I’ve never seen, magnetic bug nets, easy access toilet in the garage… which is also custom (love the wood trim), custom collapsible shower frame (love that copper tubing), solar panels on top of your deck, plastic mirror, and other cool/original stuff I’m probably forgetting. What's up CJ 🙌 You will definitely need/want a large battery bank. I do wish we had more solar for sure (200W currently). You'll definitely want a shower 🚿 especially if you have a dog 🐕 Nothing like having a clean family 😜 You certainly do not need a hot water heater... if we were to change anything... I would add a gas stove & water heater. We do have a heater under the passenger seat gasoline Wabasto attached to our gas tank. It's expensive 🤑 but saved our butts in Wyoming (-20F) during ski/snowboarding season. We recently bought a Zero Breeze (12V & battery) A/C... for Mexico so keep you updated on how well it works. As for gas mileage... it depends... in the mountains w/ full water & gas, like 12 per mile... otherwise roughly 16

I paid a 1K for a ‘compsoting’ turlet. I unplugged the fan, stopped venting it, and basically use as a bucket (it separates though) with pine pellets that have baking soda in them (kitty litter). NO smell now!

Our refrigerator is an Isotherm Induction cook top is a nutrichef We love the refrigerator the size is perfect and has the best freezer size as well. As for the induction 🙄 we would probably go with a single burner induction due the the power draw & counter space

What a beautiful home! Definitely has a great layout; I'm currently trying to map out the inside of my school bus. I might draw inspiration from your shower set-up, I love a clever stowaway shower lol It's 30 feet long, but I have 4 kids, 3 dogs, 2 turtles, and a cat :S someone's gonna have to go! I'm thinking of bunks, and having just a toilet room would be way more space-saving than having a full or wet bathroom-type setup.

Really nice van build...nice extras. Only prob...I don't know why people think it's okay to swear in their videos. I find it so disrespectful.. It's so commonplace in society today, and that is such a shame... I don't know if it could be done because of weight, but I would want the frig up in the closet??? Nice, but I don't consider any layout without a separate private shower/sink/toilet room acceptable, especially when two people will be occupying it. Nice little frig, though, with a better-sized freezer than many others I've seen. I also like the size of the kitchen sink.

Thanks we definitely searched high & low for the right fridge. The space a full shower 🚿 takes up is not worth it in our opinion. Once you start living with your partner in a van... most "norms" start to go out the window. You don't shower as often as you may think & the space you gain is amazing, also someone could sleep (& has) on our bench easily.

Solar only 200 watts, as we can charge when we're driving, 40amp hours. Definitely need/want 400 watts of solar

It's fabulous, would you do a partial build? And just replicate some of it, or much of it, with a few minor modifications, like a stainless steel sink instead? I Love the flairs, upgraded suspension, so much of it. I would love to do this, but I'm in Hawaii. If I can figure out the van--I want the Ford Transit as well because I'm tall. I am working out a lot of things right now. The issue for me is there's no parking here at my condo. But 99% of what I need, new or lightly used, is all here. I could ship the van to San Diego, or buy there, which maybe you could assist me with. The whole thing is akward, but we could do zoom, or you could come to Hawaii as my guests, to do the design. If I set up a storage unit there, I could ship the things I'm retaining. After I get the van there. You did a great job and that's what I'd need, because I'd want to sell my Photography out of the van. I would love to dicsuss. Have fun, stay safe, listen to her gut instincts and yours,lol no lmmediate rush . I am coming up with many creative ideas. I also used to Organize Houses, etc. And have, a wide range of skill sets. We've got some friends with that unit. They're very pleased with it. When it gets really hot they string a blanket along the edge of their bed so it concentrates the cooling in that area.
