Great landing at the fuel stop field and thank you for taking a pic of the airfield sign, you don’t realize how many ways there are to spell Immokalee until you try. And another great landing at Miami Exec…you’re crushing it on the landings Capt. Mindy! Thanks guys for taking me along 🤗

Great video and super cool where you guys are flying. I did my training in Apopka last year and after my check ride, I have flown in Seabring Labelle, and also got fuel in Immokalee and it was almost boring because of how calm the airspace was compared to Apopka lol. And yes, I’m aware Apopka is nothing like the big cities but it felt busy to me.
@Schmiiindy
@Schmiiindy Жыл бұрын
Apopka is VERY busy and arguably more challenging than “big cities” as the big cities normally come along with control towers to help with the flow of traffic! You’re not wrong!!

That was fun! For starters, you are now at my second FL airport after Apopka LOL. Wonder if Bob White will be next for you guys! I could see my old house during your TO climb from O-North. Such memories. One of my CFI's from there works for VanAnda (Eli Delgado) so hopefully you will get to meet him (LancAir 320). I remember all too well watching for traffic over the Lake Apopka practice area during my training...the good thing is so many roads to land on north of the lake in case of emergency. Oh and glad you are getting the shoulder harnesses...I am guilty of piling on to the recommendation previously...;-) Hope you had fun in Mee-ah-mee and post return video when you can. VY

That is by far the most beautiful Cessna I've ever seen in modern times.! And I am an old tyro that once flew a straight tail C310. And yes, the front strut was the weak point on that one as well. I don't think you realize what you guys' own right now. It will eventually sink in. MOJO is irreplaceable, and in that condition, one of a kind. Be really proud! I would be. And take really good care of her. She deserves nothing less.... Superb channel guys! By the way, one of my daughters and grandkids live in Apoka. Living on the left coast of Florida my wife and I go to Apoka often and would love to see thar Skylane 182 in person. I do photography and would love to take some pro shots of it. Prints are on me of course. And you can have the originals too. You can see some of my some of aircraft shots in flightaware.com - "flightaware.com/user/jaspc"

Great video Shmindy! I’d love to learn from your husband how squawk codes are generated. Do they just make up four numbers? Do they have a list of eligible codes sitting beside them?
@klindy_07
@klindy_07 Жыл бұрын
Computer generates them. Each center and the facilities underlying it share the same bank of codes. That’s why you may get multiple codes in your flight.

What's up with the brakes on rotation? or did I mishear you? 30 years of flying and I'm hearing more GA pilots talking about taping brakes on rotation. It can't save the brakes,, they're not used until engaged which is when you tap them,, Even in the retractable it makes no sense .. Im willing to learn if someone can convince me of the benefit. I love your 182,, caught a glimpse and started watching, beautiful airplane.
@Schmiiindy
@Schmiiindy Жыл бұрын
It makes the wheels stop spinning :) they will naturally stop spinning eventually but the taping of the brakes stop the ever so annoying vibration of the spinning, and is also good habit to stop wheels from spinning before retracting gear if you fly planes that are RG.

Not at all!!!! Our plane was under 100K (before upgrades but was completely safe and flyable at purchase) and we rent a hangar spot for $400/month. Which is high because we live in a congested area…can be cheaper elsewhere. And PS you can finance planes on 20 year mortgages!!
