I used an old glass shower screen for my shed window. Its massive! I love it. And it was 100% free

Loving the ironed creases on your hoodie. That's the real attention to detail that we've come to love. Windows and cladding are so-so. ;-) :-D

Tim re the new nil gun tip, you live in a house with three girls in it! get out your finger file (our one of the girls nail files ), mark the plastic end with the centre line you need. The steal some florescent nail varnish (they'll have some gordy colour perfect for the job guaranteed) and paint the newly filed score mark, and whola a nice vibrant centre mark.

Many thanks for the workshop series and demonstrating an alternative approach - I also want to build a workshop. Your approach appeals because of the much faster construction time -- you also make it look easy . . . : - )

Can you picture someone in 70 or 80 years working on your outbuilding and running across lead flashing (in a timber frame building)? When was this built? Thanks fir the video. Great inspiration - and a glob of glue!

Yeah that's what I should have done, when I was doing the back of mine, took the skill saw with me, I was going back and forth to the chops every 5 minutes.

What a hell of a job Fantastic workmanship Brill. I am after a bit of advice I have decided to buy a container kit house which has the sandwich panels similar to your workshop. You mentioned in one of your videos the base of your workshop was not insulated. As I am going to do a slab I was wondering how would you insulate the slab, insulate below the slab or on top of the slam. The second choice I mention seems better to me the container has a steel frame base, any recommendations thanks in advance.

Truly awesome build series with quality all the way through though query the boards being consecutive on the wall rather than overlapping the length? No doubt there will be a reason... and I’m still having serious shed envy 😎👍✅

Put a fixed pane window in a garden shed like that except I put the sill on a slight angle for water run off. Also used an automobile glass sealer to stop the water capillary action. Let it cure and cut it off with a sharp knife.
@TheRestorationCouple3 жыл бұрын
Yeah sill is up on glazing packers so it’s tiled and drain under. Should be ok for where it is as fairly sheltered. 👍

What are you using to stop insects getting into the gap under the cladding but letting water out?
@TheRestorationCouple3 жыл бұрын
Just some mesh screen on a roll.

Hi Tim, lovely job. Ive asked before but haven’t seen the answer anywhere. What screws did you use to secure the battens to the insulated panels? Not the tek screws into the beams but the others. Thanks
@TheRestorationCouple3 жыл бұрын
Just self drilling roofing screws.

Hi. Great job. Just wondering how you found the nailgun? I've used Paslode before but these are a lot cheaper. Cheers.

I bought one as a relult of seeings Tim's. I'm remodelling an old bungalow. I have to say its the best bit of kit, never once jamed or misfired.using 50, 75 and 90mm nails. It comes with 2 batteries but ive never needed more then 1 in a whole days use.

I'm looking for how to put the insect grill below and above windows and under the soffit to allow for ventilation behind the cladding (I understand how to put it at the bottom) but I don't see anything here. So am now confused 😕... any explanation, anyone? Thanks!
@fazstar49133 жыл бұрын
Cracking work, love watching this late in the evenings !! Excuse my ignorance...does not the external cladding need to be of @ none combustible fire rated material due to the outbuilding being made of timber, 30m2 and it is within 2m of your boundary ? Love to hear back from you.

How much did you pay for your cedar cladding......? I was quoted 2grand for my garden room and its only 3.5x 4.5m 😅
@TheRestorationCouple3 жыл бұрын
Around £250-300. It’s just featheredge cedar so not to be compared with imported clear t and g.
@craigstephens933 жыл бұрын
That's equivalent to around £50-55 /sqm - that's about right for Canadian Western Red, but English Cedar should only be around £35-40/sqm from my experience - though everything is bonkers right now so who knows...
