HELL YEAH! i grew up in the country and bc of work im in a townhouse! conveniences are good, but asshole divers, and no calm silent nights. Amtrak station 1/2 mile away and fire staion 2 miles. not to mention D bags with mustangs. motorcycles and the pooter pipe racers all 1/8 a mile from my window.

HEYYYY thats great news! Good for you! You asked if we had any layout ideas.... being in the auto business for 46 years, I've had opportunity to work for several dealerships and have seen many layouts. Something simple that might make a world of difference - put a door on each end of the building so you can drive into the middle of the shop and have your bays against the walls. My 2 cents. Oh man congratulations guys. That's going to be amazing. So happy for y'all. We got a place similar right before covid and we love it and you guys will too. My daughter says your cats are going to love it too. Get absolutely everything done you can before you move in. It's hard to renovate once your in. Luckily my woman got with that and I spent a year fixing our up the way we wanted before we moved one thing in. That shop will need power and all the air ran first with and outside compressor room. Mini splits do suck. We heat our house and shop with wood and my wife and daughter wouldn't have it any other way. We're sitting in the shop right now watching this and it's 35 outside and 80 in here with all the overhead doors cracked a couple inches 🤯. So proud of you guys and the next chapter of your life is just starting. Would like to see you making hits in that Nova Jackie 😲. Great video and would love to see more as you fix the place up. We love you guys 🙏🏻

Just bought a place in Southern Kentucky up the hill from Lake Cumberland. It’s a Barndominium with Shop & House all in one. On a dead end road, 20 minutes from town. I grew up on a farm in Indiana, but the building boom of the 90’- 2000’s brought the town out to us. It’s so nice to step outside in Kentucky and not hear a car, train, or people. I heard Coyotes up in the Cumberland Mountains at midnight. I have room to build hot rods or take my boat over the hill and just put in on a beach. The country roads here just end in the Lake. I can us an old flat fender Willys to put my boat in. Plus there is a huge difference between winter in Indiana and the Kentucky/Tennessee line. Cars and trucks are still on the road from the 80’s with no rust. It’s crazy all the square body trucks on the road down here. 4hrs south makes a huge difference in weather also. I’m very happy for you guys. I would move my whole race shop out there and sell the shop in town. This shop looks bigger than the shop you have now. Plus you have room to add on if needed.

adding roof awnings are very cheap but work wonders on sunny days and can hold some heavy snow provided you buy heavy structure materials

Heres a few suggestions on set up . first is depending on if you plan on painting cars id convert that single car garage into a painting only garage it brings in extra money least from a painters point of view . has for the 2 bay you could maybe add a third bay . i dont think the electrical system presently there would handle alot of things like air compressors and electric lifts because those take 240 volts i know because i did the renovations on a building and the electrical panel was to small to handle the lift on top of all the lighting the air compressors the paint booth the fans . how do you plan on heating the new shop electric or propane consider those factors during your planning . a woodworking shop is alot different compared to an auto shop set up also take into consideration where do you plan on storing used fluids because the town could impose certain rules on you .
