On yesterday's video, you mentioned a 15 degree max slope, it showed 17 and more. You said you would call the inspector, I assume he said go and pour even though driveway was not in compliance. I was a builder here for many years and sometimes a "large" builder could get away with things that a small builder could not. If rules only apply to some but not all, it only puts more small builders out of business. Most are gone from here, only the big boys are left and a lot of them ignor a lot of local rules. I wish that I had you for my concrete guy when I was building. You do fantastic work.

I applaud you and your men, what you create on a daily basis is nothing short of great craftsmanship. I have seen so many crews screw up the simplest parts of a concrete job by not thinking things through. Your jobs show that before you lay the first footer board you have a complete plan for the entire job. Does a body good to see someone doing an A+ job day in day out. Thanks for being better than just average it gives people someone they can come to for a great job. Keep up the great work.

Wayne ... quite often in a development EVERYTHING falls on the general contractor and the expenses are spread out over all the homes. They just have to add in the other $10k -$20k - $30k to include utilities, road paving, sidewalks, etc. Basically it's whatever the town requires, including storm drains, water mains, and sewer lines.

@@Concretewiththehauses we know that y'all did all that you could do on the pour with the grade that the builder left for you. You did your best with what you had. That being said does not change the fact that it IS in violation. It was the builders responsibility to grade the lot to be in compliance. I am not there, but watching the 3 videos of that total job, the builder would have had to cut several more feet on the initial grading and probably would have had to build a retaining wall across the back. It would also affected me grade on the house beside it. Still question remains unanswered the violation. If a variance was issued, what good is the regulation to begin with. This goes back to the original development survey and engineering design. I'd a variance was issued, my question still is, why have rules to begin with.

Hey, I like the head mounted camera. Gives a more up close and personal feeling with the wet concrete, along with hearing you grunt a bit when you are screeding. Nice addition!! Question: With this steep driveway and the amount of fill you had with the crushed limestone, do you see any issues with that amount of fill over time settling and creating significant cracks and/or heaving? When you have that amount of thickness in your fill do you ever have a compactor to go over it to pack it more or does this crushed limestone tend to settle and lock together as you level it out? Again, great job. The extra details makes all the difference in the world.
