We arrived in Burgos in January 2014 in our Mercedes camper. a nice campsite nearby. the folk with the backpacks are on the Camino de Santiago..we can recommend Segovia with it's Roman aquaduct. And Avila with it's walled town. Cuenca is the other place we parked in the tourist information carpark at the weekend it was winter time . See you down the road. Dave and Pat.

Hi Lisa and Mark, Forgot to say I'm in prep for going to Australia next year....wasn't well enough this year after Operation....or id be going in 2 weeks but had to cancel. I noticed you said you were going Next year also but to the opposite side of where im going.... Anyway ....my trip is really first stage of emigrating....will be near my best chum since school days, she and her husband emigrated 14 years ago and didn't regret it...we love Sunshine, Beach, Shops, Bargain hunting, Tea and Cake....and Chinese meals. 😋 It will be bye,bye Britain and Bad Weather.

Many many years ago my husband and I were in Seville and there was a statue of El CID there too. Don’t suppose Mark will find many Chinese restaurants in the parts of Spain you will be visiting. I’m not saying anything derogatory, but do you not have something on your phone for translations for signs and language, the Spanish adore people who try and speak even just basic Spanish. Managed to be in Burgos for Semana Santa back in 2011 when we lived in Spain. We lived in a wee town called Miranda de Ebro, lovely but not much to do, bar hit the cafe and shops (no chinese that i can remember tho!) if your looking for cities or towns to explore ive a few recommendations; Miranda is small but ive always loved it! Vitoria is lovely; much bigger than Miranda and more to explore, Frias is aswell, we adore Haro for the amazing views and all the vineyards too, If you want to see some history then i would recommned Santuario de Santa María de la Estrella for a visit as well! I cant wait for the videos of your journey!

I think you have to carry ID, i.e., your passport anywhere in Europe, just in case you are stopped! We were told in France that we should always carry ID.

Hola - when you're out with Chico, be aware that you should carry a bottle of water with you and give a quick squirt every time he has a pee. You can be fined for not doing so but I've never heard of anyone actually being fined. I think it's because it doesn't rain here much and dogs pee would not get washed away by the rain like in wetter climates. Enjoy your trip.

Once is 11 in Spanish. Pronounced on sey. El Gordo is the great big Spanish lottery, held at Christmas. You buy a share of a ticket as they are very expensive. 12 of us once bought 12 shares . You have to be a Spanish citizen to actually claim the prize, so we asked the staff in the campsite restaurant to claim it if we won. Although we actually just lost by one number.

For 'morcilla de burgos' you can get it in lidl or mercadona, its about 15cm long, about 6cm thick. Normally vacumn packed. Its very nice. Nothing like the haggis looking thingy 😂
