Everyone has to start using their brain. Embiid, Nick Nurse, and Morey have all said how slow they will be taking Joel this season so he’s healthy in the playoffs. That plan has already started (reason he hasn’t been scrimmaging). Ik this is Philly and we love to complain, but do you want to see Joel in a pre-season game or in May.

Joel is having scheduled Knee appointments, plus he's an athlete. If you get knee replacement surgery, for example, there are 3, 6. and 12 month doctor's appointments throughout the year to monitor it. This will always be the case for Joel. Use just don't have chronic knee issues and be left to your own devices. People really need to RELAX

Joel tore his meniscus in 2021 never got surgery for it until the “displaced flap” that was essentially the old tear getting caught on the bone causing pain. He had that flap removed don’t think it’s his whole meniscus

I think Pompey is clickbaiting considering it gets him more views. We saw Embiid perform quite well in the olympicss, I think they want the league to think Embiid is not ok to play. I think he is just going thru practices to make sure his knee is in ready shape for the season.

Quite well? Very debatable. Had a good stretch in one game. Rest of the time was visibly out of shape and possibly the slowest player in all of the Olympics. Surgery was 9 months ago. KAT had the same surgery 6 weeks after Embiid, made it back and led his team to the WCF and already played in 2 preseason games.

Maybe Joel knows something about his knee which is why he is all too willing to turn the keys over to Maxey so soon. It's possible he will miss some time to begin the season, or, he knows hos season will start much slowly than usual. Maybe it is may it isn't but I guess we will find out in due time.

Ive had many teammates have similar meniscus issues and its always the beginning of the end. Great players can adapt to get around the explosiveness differences but it's usually the end of their true athletic prime, embiids great enough to still be effective and gravitational even on one foot

If Joel can't play now, despite not having recently undergone surgery and on-going rehab, or not having suffered a recent knee injury, then that suggests his knee problem is chronic and deteriorating dramatically. It's not like a pulled hamstring. They're not managing his minutes; they're keeping him on the shelf because his knees won't let him play - at all, apparently. Hate to say it, but his career appears to be in jeopardy - and not somewhere way down the road either.
