There are huge shortages in the US. My entire grad school class had a job waiting before/at graduation If you work with kids during the day, you can make really good money by filling in on evenings and/or weekends at hospitals and nursing homes. Pay is good after some years of experience.

My concern is loans and then finding a job in acute care. I don’t prefer school settings.

If you want to work with only adults, would there still be a demand? Seems like it's revovled more around working with children. I'm looking at Speech Language Pathology Assistant, btw

nope, there is definitely a need for slps to work with adults! it’s just that it’s advertised less. older populations usually include geriatric population, tbi patients, stroke patients, etc

Great video! I have a question. What is the correct term for someone who just wants to create resources for speech and language therapy only?

We are looking into it, and I'll get back to you when I know!

So according to one of our SLP instructors, if you are a speech and language pathologist and went to school for that, then regardless of only creating resources or not you'll remain an SLP. Specializing in creating resources gives you the opportunity to call yourself whatever you'd like!

Cause they’re better than working with adults who can’t seem to regulate their own emotions, talk shit at work and annoying to be around a bit like you basically

It more definitely is. If you are in Australia, great profession to go into but be mindful pay is not that good initially.

@ue2267 Im a current student undertaking the bachelor's degree at usyd. How is the pay per year, and how far could we go with it? I heard there is a ceiling of '100~120k'..which isnt bad but I definitely want to make more than.
