This is my favorite kind of content - i love watching people organize lol. For your giftwrap, what about a large format paper organizer like they have in scrapbook shops? I use those to organize all my sticker paper and vinyl. It give you structure and you can still add separators so you can put multiple kinds of paper in each slot.

Hey there Catherine! I guess I have to pipe up from the peanut gallery out here! About your giftwrapping? Why not search for flat file drawers? Or even baker's racks with trays? then you can store flat products on wheels!!! Flat Drawers can be pretty pricey as they are massive and heavy, being made of metal, so maybe try wooden organizers (which are just open-faced pull-outdrawers, really). You could likely make some of these with cardboard boxes too. I speculate it will not be so easy to access your gift-wrapping products as you have it (though I do agree having it on the flat shelves was not a good use of space and you did need another solution). Also to protect the clothing products from fading, why not get some UV mylar film to install on the inside of the skylights? Hope this helps! You were right to get things as organized as you can foresee, as much as you can, because you won't want to work and reorganize once you have to deal with orders again. You are certainly getting professional experience moving shop! All told, you all have done a bang-up job with your move into the new space. It's so great to watch your business grow! Dean and Mike are real troopers and deserve medals! I hope you shower them with your appreciation. Truly you have a great set up and you are so fortunate. I wish you an bountiful and auspicious ramp-up in your new digs! Cheers from California 💌

I love your content sooo much. I look forward to your videos every Thursday! We have the lighting issue in our home in our kitchen from around 4pm so we put window cling on (secure with a bit of water and apply like vinyl) in like a frosty white. It really keeps the area bright but not direct “burning” sun light. This might be worth looking at to keep the studio bright but stopping any sun bleaching of your products. We got ours from Amazon. Hope this idea helps

I’ve been thinking about this for a while, I super appreciate you using cardboard storage containers and wooden shelves. Some artists/creators I watch only use really thick plastic containers. Then they try to not use plastic when they’re shipping out products and I’m just like GIRL, do you even realize how much plastic there is in those thick heavy duty plastic containers you buy in bulk?! I know we all use some plastic, it’s inescapable, but I just really appreciate the cardboard storage! Rant over, just wanted to share this thought. 😂

What about making templates of the shelves and their size to lay out first that way you don't have to move them a ton to figure out where it'll fit best? Like sheets of paper taped together to make the shape what area it fills up on the ground? It would help your backs so much. For the plushies being on the shelves, try to get yourself some bungie straps that will hook into the holes and allows you to stretch it out to grab one our without everyone falling off!
@MsRinda
@MsRinda Жыл бұрын
Hook on each side of the shelf, piece of fabric with an eyelet/loop on each corner, bam, makeshift curtain you can easily take down during packaging days :) I've seen people recommend UV blocking film for the skylights. I've heard some horror stories of damaged windows from overheating if the film is applied to the inside of the window, so be sure to double-check that you're getting the correct type that's supposed to go on the inside! (unless you wanna climb on the roof 😂)

Congrats! A lot of great ideas and inspiration! I love to see how you three get on so well and everyone has a valued input! For the sun-bleaching, you could get UV film for the skylights, or perhaps put sheets of UV film over where the clothes are, sort of like a UV curtain of sorts. That way you can still see the items, they are protected, and you don't have to open bins each time you have an order. I have no idea if that will work...I'm just thinking outloud. Haha! You could also buy sheer UV curtains that will prevent fading from the light and you could make it look like you've got windows where your products are. I'm sure you could make it really aesthetic... But probably the easiest solution is UV film for your skylights! 🤣 All the best in your new space!

I was just thinking about the sun moving around the studio and your product getting sun damage. You could use some square or round doweling you can get in B&Q and then make like a piece of cotton material and make a hole on the top and bottom of the material to poke the dowelling through the slot and then secure them on the top of the units with the dowelling sticking out above the shelving with the material tight to give like a sunshade/awning over the shelves to give some shade to cover the shelves that hold the clothing. Or some thin room dividers that you can move around as the sun moves. Or the last idea was if you’re having tables running down the middle, to put the clothing stock underneath and use the table top to shade them 👍🏻

Hi Katnipp!! I’ve been checking on you for years to see how you’ve been doing and what you’ve been up to and I have a more personal question for you today that I hope doesn’t offend you. I’m overweight and I know you’ve lost weight while having your persona on KZbin. I’ve always wanted to have a creative channel but have always felt like I’m in progress (I’ve lost some weight but I’m not where I want to be yet). I’m so nervous to make videos as I am now. Did you ever feel that way before making videos? If you did, how did you overcome it? If you didn’t, then I’m really glad for you because I wouldn’t wish this nervousness for you. I’ll always be rooting for your success 🫡
