It's the least weird thing I've ever seen, having been a lifetime renter. Born into a family who was renting, and now as a young adult, I am stuck renting while in school. The longest I've lived in one place is the place I am now, and I've been here for three years. It'll be four when the lease is up. I'll be moving again, then, too. Prior to this, two years was my longest.

I feel this on a personal level because I moved out of my parents house recently. They told me they were selling the house almost a year in advance and let me take my time moving out. I signed the lease on my apartment 2 months ago, and even though all of my stuff could have fit in 2 trips with a pickup truck, it felt like I would never be finished with boxes and stairs. I still feel like screaming every time I see a box.

I remember when we first learned of the news from the Patreon update, we were so disappointed and distressed for Stephen and Mal. There *was* a point in the conversation where the positives were brought up by someone who had some additional perspective, including the possibility of living closer to friends in Raleigh, which added to the idea that this could be a blessing in disguise. While I liked this house, I'm looking forward to the next chapter (which should hopefully be more than 2 years long). Best of luck, and hope the moving process has been as sane as possible, especially with some friends being around.

Need to get together and make Grandpa's Ranch, the Stephen and Friends Mansion, the Colosseum Condo, Vila de Vlog. Just a big ol' home for the lot of you to call home... Yeah, I know, that's dumb, but only really half joking. If the living situations are like that this often, where you're essentially being told to move out every other year, it might actually be worth getting with willing and able people in your circle to try and get a group 'forever home.' Glad you do have a place to go for at least two years, though! Hoping it goes longer!

I've noticed with cats, that oftentimes if you move to a place that's bigger than your old one, they adjust fast, but if it's smaller than your old one, it takes them a long time to adjust. When i lived with my parents a few years ago i had my 2 cats there in their 2,300 sq ft house, then my (now) wife and i moved into an apartment, and it took the cats a very long time to adjust, but moving from the apartment to a 1,750 sq ft house took them no time at all, and then when we moved into a 2,400 sq ft house, they adjusted quick again

That's a real pain, and a lot of moving to have to go through, hope the stress isn't too bad. On the other hand, you could have had a landlord that decides to 'expand' your home without having to ask permission because it's not technically 'in' your house so you can't do anything about it. And then he starts building, at which point the lights in your house will fall down because of them hammering on the roof from 6 am to 8 pm. And when it's all done, the rent doubles. Oh well... the joys of renting.

I think sometimes when things like this happen, it really sucks at first because it feels like such a setback in the moment. But it isn't until later that we realize how positive it was for that event to happen in the end. I had to move the week before Christmas last year , and even though it was literally down the street ( a 5-minute car ride) to the new house, moving still took forever and was exhausting mentally and emotionally. Moving always sucks, so take it easy and take care. And yes, once you hire movers you can never go back!

Having moved 13 times before I was 26.. Which is 10 times more than my 81-year old grandma.. I don't envy you, lol. Until past 2019, I had never stayed past the 5-year mark in one place. I moved 5 times in 4 years. It's been almost 9 years in this house, and if I can help it.. I am never moving again. Best of luck with the move (Again😂), and may it be semi-permanent this time!

So the REAL reason behind the move is that the network wasnt sure about this new experimental Raleigh direction the show was taking, so they ordered a shortened season. However, when the season showed to give excellent ratings they ordered a new, much longer season, and as such our beloved main characters have to move to the new set

Is it normal that in the US, leases are only for a limited amount of time? Where I live, leases don't have a time limit (usually) and if you want to move, you have to give 3 months notice or find a suitable tenant if you want to move out sooner than that

Yeah, the vast majority of leases here are for a specified amount of time (usually one year). So either the landlord or the tenant has the option to not renew the lease at the end.

Ever since this move got announced I had this kinda weird thought of a cosmic... "Joke???" running gag??? of in person TRG Colos coming with the price of someone having to move. 2018 didn't have that issue per se publicly but 2019 had Jon/Lucah move. 20-22 are digital/hybrid so they don't necessarily fit this narrative but 23 has this move but also Tom moving cuz he finally got his home finished. So really I'm just waiting for Jon to have to move around TRG Colo again for some cursed reason. But this sucks and I hope for the best of your move (Cuz I think Tom's mostly done with his last I knew).

I don't get how a landlord can just say we want to move back in the place. If you wanted to live in that house, you shouldn't have rented it out in the first place. They should talk to the people living there to see if it is viable or at least wait for the lease to end before they move in.

It's super annoying and frustrating to have this happen to you guys again. Someone associated with our family was renting out their house and fought like hell to get it back because the renters weren't paying rent and actually did major damage to the house. Somehow the house has been more or less restored to a good living space and ownership is back where it belongs. By comparison, it's really unfair that you're getting the short end of the stick where you guys take care of the house, stay current on rent and so forth. Why should good tenets have to go through hell but bad tenets get away with things longer than they should? On a more positive note, would it be a lot to ask for a "Kepler explores the new new house for the first time" vlog? :P
