I think both Joe and yourself used wisdom on waiting on a cat. I have 4 and even though they are low maintenance, my children were old enough to help with the upkeep. I think Riley will completely understand because she is a very intelligent little lady. Focus on your family and yourself is priority right now Momma! 💕

Hubby and I were thinking about a kitten to keep our other cat company but when we found out we were expecting again we too delayed the kitten. They’re just so much work and you really want to take the time to play and bond with them. If you really wanted a cat right away maybe an older kitten, closer to a year. But it’s so nice to get them tiny and have them grow up those first months with your family. It’s great you and Joe prayed about it! The cat will come eventually and I’m sure it will be the perfect fit! It’s actually funny you mentioned that breed because I know a Byzantine Catholic Priest who breeds them in NJ and flies them all over the country.

You should adopt a cat when the timing is right for you all vs using a breeder. There are so many kittens needing homes in rescues and short haired ones are not nearly as allergenic as long haired ones and there is a dry shampoo you can put on a cat. If a kid grows up in a cat home they won’t be allergic. It’s definitely best to wait until your kids are older. They come from rescues spayed and our rescue kittens are the sweetest.

We’ve had three different cats and all three have been semi feral kittens that were left in barns etc and they’ve all been really sweet and friendly.

It might hurt the kids feelings when you say you have a little more sympathy for Sean because he needed more needles and he had a reason to cry vs the older 2 only needing a finger prick needle…It’s valid to be scared for either of those and all 3 should be treated equal for their pain. Remember words hurt for little kids too ❤

Also keep in mind it’s okay if kids are not reading in Kindergarten. The Good and the Beautiful Kindergarden can be really advanced for some kids, so if it moves to fast pause and practice concepts and you can go slow.

I feel like I’m afraid to commit to plan & don’t go through with it ! I’m overthinking it 😭 By the way, how do you homeschool being pregnant? I’m also pregnant with my 4th & I’ve been soooooooo sick. I'm the youngest of 5. When you talked about taking all the kids to the doctor, it brought back memories 😂 we'd all hop into the suburban and go. Our dentist office was so small that we took up all the waiting chairs. You'll miss it one day.

Aaaw, important that the kitty is delayed. Sorry Riley! Kitty litter can't be handled by a pregnant mommy. There's some virus that's dangerous for unborn babies. I'm a cat auntie now, and have had cats around my whole adult life. They're wonderful at the right time ♡♡♡

kittens do destroy everything with their nails-they will climb up curtains, scratch their claws on the side of all furniture, you would be conscious all the time of not letting the cat outside- which would be so hard to do with kids coming in and out all day, money for their food, shots, vet visits, even more if they get sick, need to be neutered. I've had 2 of them- one before kids and one when the kids were about 5 and 7. No infants. I honestly would tell riley that she is getting the best gift of all - baby sister and that when all the kids are old enough to help having a cat around the house, then u can decide as a family. So it's not a "no", it's a "not for now while we have toddlers and babies in the house". As an aside, I have been a follower since that first vlog you made- I think you were sitting in a chair talking to us??? So I have seen you grow and mature quite a bit in all that time. I am a Christian myself and I see how God is first in your life- as He should be, how you read the Bible and teach your children. Your language/choice of words has softened quite a bit too over these years. I pray for your family- for your health and safety, as I do for my own kids and grandkids.....kudos to the great job home schooling- I am a retired teacher myself . You guys have your ducks all in a row- pun kind of intended.....and I am sure your parents and grandparents are super proud of you. I look forward to all your posts- watching moms with their kids/families is to me time well spent if I am going to watch something for entertainment. Bless all of you!!!!!!
