Hey babe! I just wanted to thank you, like whole heartedly! After watching this video and the following one I started sleep training that night. With in three nights we didn’t have to do any check ins for any sleeps! Thanks to you I knew exactly what to expect and felt like I knew what I was doing for once! This will be night 7 but we haven’t even had to follow the schedule as bub falls asleep with in 5 minutes anyway. You’re a godsend, so grateful. I’ll save this video for all my friends and my future babes! Sending love xx

Idk why anyone would give you hate, your kids cannot sleep in your bed forever. That's not healthy for you, your husband, or the child. My niece slept in her parents' bed until she was six and then they finally tried making her sleep in her own bed. I can't even imagine not having that alone time with my husband for 6 years. You're doing the right thing for your kids and your family :)

How can you compare a 6 yo with a 6 mo? A baby needs his mother's warmth at night. It is a western thing to want a baby to sleep in their own room, it is not natural and goes against the baby's instincts.

It’s ok to not sleep train. You can keep your baby happy and comfortable at night instead, that will bring baby confidence in your love and a sense of safety that will lead to more confidence and true independence that is based on love, not separation or stress. Something that has helped us beat the early morning wake ups is to choose daily wake time and continue Ferber until that time comes. Ours is 7:00 and so if she wakes up before (which she doesn’t anymore) we would continue pop ins until 7:00 and then once it hits 7:00 we go in happy and ready to start the day. Also we do a dream feed at like 10:30 and it helps a lot.

Mothers and babies are designed to be a mutually responsive dyad. Babies express their needs to the mother (or caregiver) through crying. Letting babies "cry it out" is a form of need-neglect that leads to many long-term effects. Consequences of the "cry it out" method include: It releases stress hormones, impairs self-regulation, and undermines trust. Yes the method will work but at what cost? Ever heard of GENTLE SLEEP COACHING, same results but without the tears.

I would suggest a sleep sack or wearable blanket! Like Zipadee-Zip. On their website it says that babies like it because they feel comfort when they feel can feel the edges. Idk I guess it imitates the womb but okay for older babies that can roll over. Worth a shot! My almost 4 month old wears the Love to Dream "Swaddle Up" since she didnt like being swaddled with her hands down anymore. She cries when I put her down but once i zip her up (and I do use pacifier) she goes right to sleep. She knows when she's wearing it that its time for sleep! I will transition her soon to the Zipadee-zip when she can roll over. Just a thought! It might help.. Love keeping up with you and your family!

Per a program I used and worked in 2 nights. feed before and after naps, every 2 hrs all day so they have all their calories by night. Feed before bath time, so their food won’t come up right before bed. Once they’re asleep, dream feed at 10:30 and then 3 am. Feeding them before they wake rather than waiting for them to cry is the trick. Then you wean off night feed but feeding a minute less everyday. *also* notice how your baby likes to sleep, on their belly? Side? Put them down that way*:( good luck mommies! 🙏🏽 they say the second is easiest and I just wonderrr lol

This video came in just in time. I have a 14 month soon to be 15 months and she's been in our bed since she was 9 or 11th months old. She doesn't sleep through the night she gets up to nurse but I know it's comfort nursing. When she was 5 months she was a great sleeper, she was in her own room sleeping through the night. When she hit 9 month she also hit regression and I'm not sure what happened. Well next week we are going to put her back in her room. I need sleep. I started to tear up when you put Jackson down for his nap. I know that cry and it pulls on the mommy's heart. Thanks again for the video. And best of luck. ❤❤❤

I know you want the best for your baby, but I have to warn you. The Ferber Methode isn't good for your baby. There will be a huge trauma and he learns that he can't trust you. He learns that his crying has no meaning. In Germany is a lot of science data that sleep training is a horrible thing you can do to your baby. Let me told you that I'm in therapy because of anxiety. Judith-D well with my baby he really angry cries so it really does feel like abuse. If it was just a little bit of fussing I would. But whenever he angry cries it’s like non stop, tears, red face, he can even bust the little blood vessels in his eyes.. it’s happen before.. I just don’t see any possible way or doing it. We’re taking slow steps he always had to be in my arms but then he was in my arms in the bed. So he’s used to that now he will fall asleep on his own if I’m by him. Not with a bottle or me holding him. So next step is putting him in his cribs for naps asleep but drowsy to see if he will start falling asleep on his own. My baby needs those small steps lol

Just want to mention that sometimes with full extinction, they stop way faster overall. I tried ferber at first, and she could go for literally hours because she was just reinvigorated every time I went in. When we tried full extinction, 20 minutes flat. Also worth mentioning that my baby would cry while being rocked to sleep as well, so we really weren't getting her to sleep cry free at any point in her life past newborn. But now that she's sleep trained, she only cries when she's overtired and only for a few minutes.

You’re doing a great job! I work as a nanny for an almost 3 month old. I have done the Ferber method in the past and one thing that definitely helped was not allowing baby to get so frustrated that he isn’t able to settle down. After the first few minutes, I go in and place my hand on their chest and once I see that they are calm, I leave the room. I know it’s hard to hear your baby cry, this will allow them to learn how to self soothe, before you know it.. they’re sleeping without assistance! Another tip would be to start sleep training during the day - first nap Use a sleep sack-, zen sleep sack is great!

@@skrai1903 right. But the fact that training your baby affects their mental health is like whatever? You can’t just choose to be a parent during the day and respond to your baby’s cries, but at night decide to completely ignore him/her. If anything, ST doesn’t teach a baby any valuable lesson besides to just stop signaling their needs to a parent because no one will come. Sorry, but that is the sad truth. Biologically to not have sleep deprivation a baby should sleep next to his mother and then you won’t have to even get up at night because he will just feed and sleep. And also as an adult human if you decide to have a baby you obviously know that it won’t be easy in the beginning and sleep deprivation is def better than your baby having a ptsd later in life after being left to cry for hours on his own... no judgement to anyone whatsoever. Just my opinion.
@KseniiaOfficial
@KseniiaOfficial 3 жыл бұрын
@@skrai1903 and yes babies NEED you to put them to sleep, and they don’t HAVE TO sleep more that 2 hours?? Even 2 hours is a lot and some babies never sleep more than 30 minutes. That’s a biological norm and means you’re having a healthy baby who is naturally attached to his primary caregiver. You are raising a human, not a machine who is supposed to do everything like you wish or like someone said they should be doing.

@@89therrera before the term SIDS it was called “Crib Death” prior to the modern crib (and in almost every non-western country to this day) babies slept/sleep with their mothers. Especially breastfed babies. Per country, The higher the prevalence of bed sharing the lower the SIDS rates. So being in a crib is actually more dangerous than bedsharing, if bedsharing is done properly and safely. USA has highest SIDS rate in the world, and one of the lowest bed sharing rates. The scare tactics used on “breastsleeping” mothers actually does the opposite of protecting babies from SIDS.

First time mom with a 1 year old. She has co-slept with me 95% of the time with the exception of spending the night with grandma and naps in her crib. Her separation anxiety has PEAKED ...not sure what sleep train method will work . I feel like I am late to the party on this one 😮‍💨 I work from home so I understand babygirl's fear. At this point I'm wondering if I should try to move her crib to my room, or try to wait until her SA subsides...I just dont want to flip flop methods

Thank you for this video. We just started ST our third child and let me tell you, the anxiety and guilt we parents experience each time we go through this doesn’t get easier! Despite refreshing my memory with research, watching your video answered so many other questions and gave me the validation that I’m doing what I believe is right and helping my child in the long run. You reminded me that each child is different and it will get worse before it gets better. I especially appreciated that you walked through the naps as that is something that I didn’t see much info on. You gave me the confidence and validation that I was desperately seeking at 2:30am last night. 😅 so grateful to have come across your channel. Thanks again and wish me luck! 🤞🏼

Your videos are extremely helpful! I’m a stay at home dad and I’m sleep training our 5 month old. I have a question though… we also use the Huckleberry app for tracking sleep. Our boy wakes up in the middle of the night a few times still. Do I stop the sleep and then start a new one when he falls back asleep or just keep it going? He’s up for about 20 minutes each time. Thanks!

Thank you for your video. I've been thinking about the Ferber method. I will try to do it tomorrow. I'm doing gentle sleep training. It worked well at the beginning. But it has been 2 weeks now. It just not working. And I'm going crazy. And actually, it is jot that gentle. They still do cry.. and they will! Even after 1 month of doing it, she is till cyring. She even was crying while I was rocking her. I was lucky my first baby did well. I didn't need to sleep train her. It was very natural. But this lady.. Ohdear..5 months.. And nothing has changed. So..Ferber method. I hope it will work.

I have a question. Dies it set them back by allowing them to come into your bed in the morning and fall back asleep? Since that’s what he wanted to begin with? Would it be like starting from scratch since he got what he wanted? I’m not asking in a sarcastic way, I really am curious about if it’s ok or if it’s recommended to always put them back in their own bed.

Give him a lovey or a small blanket that basically he can rub his face into (babies love doing that). My baby has been sleep trained since 4.5 months. When she would wake up in the middle of the night, I could see her in the monitor searching around for her elephant. Sometimes I would go in there just to hand her her elly :-). Now 10 months and she still needs her Elly!

I love watching all your videos, they are so helpful! 💛I have a question tho, do you check if he’s wet his diaper during these check ins? to see if that’s why he’s waking up? Especially if you’ve nursed him before laying him down? And if you do, do you check every time you go in just to make sure that’s not one of the reasons why they are fussy at all? I love the sleep training method, am definitely doing this with my next boy due this October!

Hey Kim - I started sleeping training last Friday. The first night wasn’t so great but better than we expected. The following day we continued with the FB method for naps but it was really hard. We eventually had to revert to having him in our arms (like you described). The second night was really good he feel asleep with in 10mins and only woke up for two feeds. His day started at 7am the following day. However, the naps are still a challenge. I know it’s only early days but the cries for the naps are worse than the night. It’s definitely worth doing it not only for you but but for your LO. I hope the nap situation I’ve described doesn’t put you off. I’m glad we have the night time almost sorted.

In my opinion this is a very harsh method . it might work as the baby will fall asleep eventually due to the exhaustion of crying and then will develop a pattern and fall asleep ,but you must be a very strong mother to do it ( the method being thought by a man who does not have the same connection with the baby that a mother has ) and make sure also that your baby is not chocking himself with the compulsive crying , mine if starts crying because i put him down when almost asleep or even asleep and then wakes up because of the crying, will end up almost stop breathing so i am not going to put him through this. and also i fear he will feel abandoned . But for who decides to do it , best of luck and stay strong .

This method is very bad for baby, baby needs your touch and warmth and scent, they are growing so fast, you won’t carry him forever, just hold him, cooslepping and carrying has much more benefits for baby’s mental development than this kind of terrible methods.. you should bond with your baby every minute of the day, not rejecting him... wishing you the best :)

H S hi there! :) I get what you mean completely!! For me what I did was for naps I slowly coordinated her eating schedule with naps. For example.. I would nurse her from 12:15-12:30pm and then in my bed I’d lay right next to her until she was sound out and then SLOWLY get off the bed. Of course I make sure there’s no way she can fall off the bed etc and then she naps there. It works well because she’s familiar with the bed and feeding her right before helps A TON!! I hope this helps a bit to get an idea of something to possibly try out! Good luck 💟
