CHUB IDENTIFICATION PROBLEM-- RED ALERT -- i lived in Bermuda for 7 years, and I need to advise about Bermuda-vs-Yellow chub ID. In Bermuda, every school of Bermuda Chub has ONE "Golden Chub" in it, and it is NOT the yellow chub, but a sole "Alpha" (dominant) Bermuda Chub (one per school) that goes golden in certain seasons for mating purposes. It is not like a Schoolmaster Snapper species herding the Grey Snappers, 2 species, the Golden Chub IS a Bermuda Chub that turns golden, one per school. If you catch the Golden Chub, a new one in the Bermuda Chub school will turn golden. One NEVER catches a golden chub by itself, always in a school of Bermuda Chub -- They often bite early on (because they are alpha), Please take a VERY close look at your "Yellow" Chub, because I think it is a golden Bermuda Chub!

Hey Leo, you can carefully heat the glue holding the cracked rod tip with a lighter and then pull it off. Then replace it with a new tip that can be purchased at Dick’s or comparable store. They come with a small glue stick which you heat up the same way. Not expensive at all and easy to make the repair.

Man, I really miss saltwater fishing sometimes. I visited Key West back when I was a teenager and I caught Jack Cravelle, Red Snapper, Tarpon, and a bunch of Mangrove Snapper. I was fishing off of the boardwalk and there was a charter coat captain and his mate sitting on the back of their boat drinking beer and watching me fish. He asked me if I wanted a job...lmao Then, he took me to the Hog's Breath Saloon and bought me a couple shots of 190 proof rum. He didn't tell me what it was first and it took my breath away. I grew up in Brandon, Florida near Tampa and my best friend (who still lives there) and I used to go fishing all the time. Man do I miss being down there. Pennsylvania just isn't a substitute.
