Azul has an almost big dog personality. Quietly confident, bold but not aggressive. He is obviously heavily socialized. He may be a bit aloof for a fox, but we'll see how he settles in.

Me either. But I'm glad there won't be any fox pups resulting from this marriage. Ruby is spayed and based on how long it took the Veterinarian to figure out Azul is a boy, he's probably neutered. Maybe if Ruby and Azul get along, they can be foster parents to some rescued fox pups or some jackal pups.

I hope Ruby can feel comfortable and in charge, and end up being OK with Azul! There's a lot to be gained over solitary splendor. We had a similar situation when we rescued the 2nd of our current generation of cats. She chased our resident cat and clawed him. It was awful. But a year after chasing ended, we noticed they were always lying down near each other, in identical or mirror-image positions. Now they play gently, with paws waving while one is lying down. They occasionally lie down touching each other and seem to enjoy the feline company. Color us amazed.

For anyone wondering any business that works with animals must have a quarantine zone or space for animals. Even if animals don’t show any signs of disease or illness when they arrive. Each quarantine timing is dependent on the species and where the animal is staying.

Since they are fed, I guess they don't need to worry about hunting territories, but it has to be ingrained in them, right?
