Fire armor and gas armor and tesla armor need 100% resistances to their specific element!!!! It’s not worth bringing to get killed in 3 seconds vs 1 second!!

I think the nerf is justified, instead I wish they would add passives to our helmets so the armors in the warbonds would have full 100% resistance if you were using the full set, but if you wanted to trade your helmet out for another with a different passive, light, medium and heavy would all have their different unique passives.

Honestly, heavy armor probably just needs a complete overhaul, with passives unique to that class of armor. As it stands right now, it's really hard to find any justification to use it.

Maybe in defense missions where you dont need to run from point A to B or run away from danger, its the only instance where i use heavy armor.

I used to consider the extra armor to be useful against bots if I wasn't taking a shield. But since the damage overhaul I feel there is barely any difference between armor types besides movement speed

helldivers 1 had mobility vehicles like a motorcycle. while i do agree that heavy armor should be buffed to increase the idea of being a tank i believe should the live service prosper long enough the readdition of something like a warthog would probably open up a lot of players to considering taking heavier armor more often

stalkers specifically are way too loud, i never get snuck up on by the only enemy I actually want to try and sneak up on me. 😢

If Arrowhead wants to focus on team play then how about making the gas explosive when exposed to fire. 1 diver go in with the chemical agent another with the flamethrower and just wreck havoc

I think instead of keeping the heavy armor glitch we should just have heavy armor have like 95% or 100% resistance to either gas, fire, electric, whatever. That way heavy armor will be more viable 👌

That wouldnt make sense though lol. I'd prefer if the armor had a 35% damage resistance, meaning you'd take 35% less damage from all body parts.

I just think advanced filtration in general should be a full immunity to it. What's the fucking point of taking gas masks and hazard suits if shit's still going to kill you?

I think armor tier should affect its modifiers. Like, obviously a bigger armor with more room should ALSO pack more stims since its just bigger, give you 4 extra stims instead of 2, 4 extra grenades instead of 2 etc. heavier armor should make handling recoil easier too

They could also just make helmets do something so you could combo the helmet and armor to have 100% resistance 🤷. But personally I don't take specialized resistance armor most the time either because I prefer like democracy protects or explosive resistance with less recoil, ect.

Removing the immunity to gas is silly. No enemy producess gas damage. We were using that immunity just to have fun by being in the center of the gas. There is virtually no advantage in being in the epicenter of a low visibility zone full of enemies who are flailing around violently. This was literally just for fun...

While this got a lot of upvotes and agreeing comments.. that's simply a very bad idea, sorry. This was *clearly* a bug, got exploited, and needed to go. That has nothing to do with whether it was fun or not. People act like the devs are anti-fun here, which is just unfair and ridiculous. Maybe they rework how gas works in the future, but as of right now, we got armors where the armor passive is intended to literally decrease the amount of damage you take from gas. That is the intended solution, if you want to stand in gas. Using an exploit to not just get the same effect, but immunity, on top of another armor passive, is simply something that needed to go. If you argue against that, you are biased, because you exploited it. Dont get me wrong tho. I dont mind gas immunity at all. Just not like this. If they ever want to introduce something like this, it should be done properly. The effect should be implemented regardless of armor type, for example as a lategame ship upgrade that reduces damage taken from gas (potentially also fire) globally. We'd then also need to rework gas armors to have a different kind of effect, like a buff while in gas, to fully engage with the gas gameplay. Increased movement speed, a damage buff, or passive healing, would be some fun options for that. That's how you integrate a more gas-centric gameplay into the game properly.. keeping a bug is not.

@@Yamyatos While I don't disagree that exploits need to be fixed, it is also extremely short sighted from the dev side when they see the players doing something fun and decide they need to remove it, instead of implementing it properly. Especially something that does not meaningfully impact gameplay. Especially when heavy armors are close to useless in running meta.

They should add passives to helmets and have a passive that makes you invulnerable to gas. You can have another one with night vision, another with heat vision, one that let's you see pick ups from further away, one that let's you scan weapons from further away, another for seeing weak points on enemies. You can do so much.

According to the devs that was originally suppose to be in the game, but they were having issues implementing it properly. Each helmet was suppose to have a unique HUD and a passive like the armor. It may come in due time.

Sounds like you just need teammates that call out that they have just thrown one out. I call out my stratagems, at least for the most part. But even then, I constantly see other diver wonder in there even when the napalm is already half way done 😂😂😂

​@Whiskey5_ lobbies with mics will always be a mixed bag. They should just have directional indicators or turn off friendly fire altogether. You can easily turn lobbies into slogs, killing teammates in the extraction ships or just bringing a walking barrage to the ship.

It would be really cool. Like a liquid nitrogen grenade or cloud. That super cools and makes bots, bugs, and their armor fragile. Letting you drop almost any enemy quickly, with basic, only light armor piercing weapons. Ex) toss 1 or 2 ice grenades at a hulk, then drop it with less than a mag of liberator ammo, even shooting at its super chilled and fragile armor. It could help make quick and easy work of bot drops and bug breaches with basic weapons (think new players, nothing unlocked type players).

I'd say headlines like that is an overly dramatic complaint. The heavy armor isn't something I use because it's too many sacrifices for a tiny bit more damage resistance. I run light armor most of the time as mobility is life. You need to be able to engage and escape for when too many forces get dropped down as a retaliation.

In my personal opinion. I think it's weird that the three types of armor have the exact same passives. In my personal opinion, I think it would be cool if each armor type could be used for a different playstyles for example if I used light armor with fire resistance the armor would give 80% fire resistance and a buff to help my run and Gun play style for example set an enemy on fire get 5 Seconds of increase movement speed. I just think it would make armor a little more interesting then it is now.

I like the idea of the resistance being less or greater for light medium and heavy. Hell why not do it for the arc and fire armors as well. It makes sense more insulation would protect you more than less insulation with the trade off being movement speed.

Hopefully the sound cues are actually fixed, I have had a butt load of chargers just come out of nowhere and smack the ish out of me, with no audio of them charging. But I'm still having a ish ton of fun since the buffdate, just racked 929 kills yesterday muhahaha

This could be a spawn issue, not a sound issue. Enemies will prioritize spawning in blindspots, so now the game often spawns a patrol ~30m behind you, possibly closer, possibly right behind a rock that breaks your los.

@@soldat88hun naw, it's a sound issue, they're running full speed, with no sound cues. I was able to hear chargers running before the update. But now it's like 1 and 3 chargers don't have a sound cue when charging or foot steps.

I tried out the heavy armor gas bug for like 2 missions then went back to playing normally because heavy armor is as usual too punishing against the bugs.

I did notice way before that shriekers sounded different and stalkers were way louder than before, but they really need to address the BILE SPEWERS, HUNTERS, COMMANDERS, and BROOD WARRIORS not doing any sort of noise. Constantly getting sneaked up from behind and getting killed by them and take in mind I play with headset

We need a complete armor passives overhaul. Even if there are armors resistant to fire and gas, I still don't use them because we only have a small health and limited stims. They should just give full immunity. Its not like all the enemies use gas or fire

Definitely think heavy armor should have amazing advantages to like gas and fire like you said. We sacrifice a lot to wear that armor so that would be a great balance I believe.

I think light, medium, and heavy armor should have different buff levels. A heavy medical armor should have more bonus stims then light armor. Heavy flame resistant armor should more resistance then light armor. Etc. Having a bigger bonus on heavier armor would be a nice incentive to pick heavy armor over lighter armor.

Heavy armour should make you immune to ragdolling. Atm you’re still dying from 2-3 hits from a hunter or stalker. Bots are a new headache altogether.

The heavy armors with flame and gas resistance should have 100% resistance so that there are actual use or incentive in using them in exchange for the stamina and speed penalties.

Crazy that everything *but* the helldivers gets different armour values that actually matter. Small bitters and bots with pistols should not do damage to heavy Armor, e.c.t. would make heavy and medium armour actually worthwhile taking ESPECIALLY when there's a light armour counterpart, the damage reduction is just...non-existent.

Armour needs complete overhaul to be made modular with *_selectable_* Perks & Passives. (Which need reworking as well.) Every armour should be able to pick 1 defensive passive + 1 or 2 perks. (2 with a progression unlock, perhaps?) *Passives:* *_• Extra Armour • Explosive Resistance • Elemental Resistance_*_ *_ (*Combine Arc/Gas/Fire & add ACID) *Perks:* • Deep Pockets - *(Extra Stims/Grenades/Ammo)* • Peak Physique++ - *(Weapon handling + Throw Distance + Faster Reload)* • Democracy Protects - (Fine as is... Or tweak to "Survive Lethal dmg *_once every x minutes._* ") • Stim Suit - (Slow-ish Passive Healing... and/or... Auto-Apply stims when taking heavy dmg) • Scout - (Short of reworking the entire Stealth System, add slower detection, delay reinforcement calls, etc.) (A cloaking system would be awesome but might be best saved for a future Backpack Ability.) Give Heavy Armour innate Knockdown Resistance and Light the ability to get back up instantly. (Increased Stim Duration perk should be added to the existing stim enhancement *_Booster._* Boosters also need a rework but I'd start by combining similarly themed ones together. i.e. Stamina Boost with both ''Slow Effect'' negation boosters, Reinforcement Budget (Flexible + Increased), Vitality Enhancement with Stim enhancement... Ammo Optimisation should NOT EXIST. It should be on BY DEFAULT...

Being able to customise your Platoons SEAF Reinforcements composition/equipment would be a great way to get people to actually use it.. from what i have seen its a waste of a slot right now. Being able to call in a full squad with a proper cohesive loadout and *good* team AI would be great. Being able to have them *hold* a location/choke point instead of just running into their death as 10second meat shield is not worth a strat slot If they want to make money.. Take a page out of Warframes book of tricks, Give us Colour customisation on ALL armors(including the SEAF Squads), let us swap material types around for the various cloth and armor types hell.. even let us select what BUFF is being used then we can wear what we actually like the look of and gives us a reason to buy the armors.

All the elemental resistance perks should be 100%. Could be balanced by giving enemies different elemental attacks that way if you’re impervious to fire, gas and electricity are still lethal.

Heavy armor should have an armor rating of 200 at least. If they make it so you are more resistant to rag dolling would actually make it worth it as well. If light rocket hits you directly, sure send me rolling, but if it hits a wall behind me or the ground next to me, a flinch would be acceptable.

Since we don't have the option to dive without mask or helmet I think all armors should be immune to gas effects but not damage,, the heavy armor should be 100% immune to all damage as well.

Don't know about this patch but my comment about how bad sound cues, buddy and I months ago had a charger caught on geometry. We left it alone cause he wasn't hurting anyone. That said, the charger wanted us dead, even if he was stuck in place. Looking directly at him as he charged would play the sound and my controller would rumble like he was right on top of us despite being 30+ meters away. Soon as you turned around, not facing the charger, silence.

I played my first evacuate high value assets mission and it worked really well. It was also my first time playing the Patriot mech, as I just unlocked it this weekend!! It was very fun and, just like you mentioned, when it works well, it’s definitely a top favorite!

The 15% limb health needs to be brought back up for medium armor, 10% for light, and 20% for heavy! I said what I said.

The fix for calling down seismic probes or prospecting drills will help those things not to glitch. I've played in missions where teams of four separate into teams of two and hit two objectives at basically the same time. calling down dual probes or drills has, I've seen, glitched one of them to the point where players cannot use the terminal to active the probe or drill; thus, not being able to complete the mission.This should help that, even if it means just taking one objective at a time.

The thing that distinguishes gas attacks from flame attacks should be that the Helldivers can move through it with less danger. Otherwise, they basically do the same thing- area of effect, better against bugs.

I agree about heavy armor. It either needs to feel better as far as added survivability or it needs to get a perk bonus. Also had some experiences last night where there was a literal sea of bugs on screen. Like OG Helldive difficulty. Just chargers, BTs, and impalers everywhere with a massive number of smaller bugs everywhere…

I've worn heavy armor a total of 3 times and I've had the game since day 1 with over 300 hours logged and counting. Something needs to change!

Not a glitch or exploit. Just devs making mistakes that should've been features again... also.. democracy protects armor, which is still better. I've never ever seen a heavy armor guy on super helldive. 50% chance not to die and better stam and speed is just meta compared to being so slow the damage reduction doesn't matter anyway? You're a sitting duck for everything in the map to shoot you or slow you down even more with hunters and acid and not being able to dodge bile? Horrible choice... should've been acid and gas resistant and have some that are fire and some that can resist insane impacts like democracy protects can but more consistent with impact damage. I'd still never run it.. heavy armor or gas weapons. This warbond is trash, which is keeping in tone with the track record of AH. All barrages and big booms feels stronger than any support weapon still and those gas weapons suck. Why confuse CC enemies when you can just kill them?

the game does feel way better to play now, i love the thermite grenades being a viable solution for large enemies when your in-between stratagem cool downs. it lets me free things up away from the precision strike for its fast cool down

i love the audio patch because ive been running music-less for a while now just for that, and it saved me so many times audio cues and democracy protects are how i manage to barely die the music is amazing, no joke, but when you gotta focus, sacrifices must be made

Im going to be honest, Ive noticed no difference in enemy sound. Im sure they made changes but Im not seeing it. Enemies are still sneaking up with no audio.

As I know it has been mentioned, they need to add perks to using specific helmets and capes. Personally, I'd like to rock fire resistant armour with a helmet that gives me a resistance to gas as well, but it doesn't need to be over the top. I think when you wear a complete set of armour/helmet/cape you should get an additional boost. Capes should have a boost in line with their names. Maybe a slightly faster reload, or a slight increase in damage, radar, etc. But right now, we have 3 pieces of armour and only the suit gives you a perk. It's a missed opportunity for me. They need to find a way to let us spend our resources, credits, and medals. A lot of veteran players don't even grab samples anymore because they are maxed out, and often, so are the teammates. This is what I think would be cool. Community contributed resources in order to improve the DSS. We have major orders to defend planets, take planets, but why am I still grabbing resources if they do not contribute to XP and I am already maxed out? I propose we have major orders or community goals to upgrade the DSS, like provide 1 million rare samples in order to add x feature to the DSS. This would bring the community more together with a common goal and give us a reason to keep diving for those samples.

Mix in the fact that chargers nearly always one-shot you now no matter what, that sound bug is extra terrifying. It’s like being stuck in a horror movie, constantly glancing over your shoulder for a jump scare… Hopefully it’s at least better after the hot fix.

On the topic of armors, I would like to add that "Electrical Conduit" passive is in desperate need of a change. It was not really used all that often before, and became almost entirely useless after the buffs update, due to stun effect being added to all arcs. Yes, passive still blocks the damage, but it *does not* block the stun, rendering you incapacitated on hit, usually in the middle of hostile Terminid crowds, on top. If I would to suggest the idea for change - it should, *at least* negate the new stun effect, in addition to their existing damage reduction. And it would also be great for it to provide electrical fields' (all types of EMS, stun grenades) immunity/resistance. That would not only bring those armors in line with "special damage reduction" passives, like "Inflamable" and "Advanced Filtration" that we now have, but will also make them way less "Tesla_tower_only-dependend" part of equipment.

I think the heavy armor bug is based on how helldivers health is affected by DoT affects, see bug acid and cacti plants. It was a big in the code line which should be (and I am glad) was fixed based on dmg percentage. I think it would be great to see the armor passives have more versatility.

The reason defend and eradicate missions feel so inconsistent is because bugs and bots can call in additional reinforcements. If you kill them before they call in, you have a boring time. If you fall behind, the reinforcements start to snowball. They should disable flare reinforcements on those missions and tune the waves from there.

Having the ability to have multiple preset load outs to choose from, or at the very least being able to change your load out mid-game if you die, would be amazing. I would love to be able to try out multiple different weapons and stratagems mid-game if I see that what I currently have selected isn’t working well.

Heavy Armor not taking Gas DoT means the Medium Gas Resist armor is outclassed by the default B-01 Medium Extra Padding. I'm not too sure if 150 armor made you immune to the confusion/blindness effect like the Gas Resist armor does.

Gotta do sum about the ragdoll i bot drop on lvl 8 and up almost exclusively. The bugs are painfully easy and boring. Watch multiple teams the past few weeks spend atleast 25% of the match rolling and flying thru the air. One shots are fine aslong as theyre a result of poor decision making on the players part.

I've been enjoying my time playing again I've discovered the Recoiless Rifle (yes first time using it) and it's bloody brilliant getting that head shot. Not liking the sound of the Gatling Barrage now that's sucks, but been mixing it up with my strats like Airburst, Napalm Barrage is awesome They broke the sound with the first patch and I've never fixed it since

Heavy armor should either double its damage resistance or include OP features. Also wish we could get more creative with customizable emblems or even charms on our armor and even paint themes to make different armor pieces match.

uhhh you can still equip the armor with the advanced filtration passive.....they fixed a bug where any heavy armor you wore would make you fully immune to all gass effects and damage, also you barely give up anything with heavy armor, you still run decently quick and stam regens decently fast after running, heavy armor is amazing vs bots as you can survive better (you can step on mines and live for example). Also for me the bugs defence mission is so damn difficult, bots level 10 is so much easier as at least you can shoot down the transports.

The defense missions are probably the easiest missions in the game you just need a full squad and someone carrying mortars.

I agree. As someone who almost always runs heavy armor (because I like the asthetic and im probably just masochistic about it), I definitely think heavy armor needs a rework regarding its strength and its perks. I know it's easier to just apply standardized perks to all the armors, but honestly the perks should scale with each level of armor, make it worth choosing which tier to take, instead of just leaving light and med as the best choices and heavy for the masochists like me.

They should have gas immunity status on certain helmets or have it as a ship module that can be applied to all helmets when upgraded.

I do believe that the heavy armour varients that give resistance to damage types should be 100%. So gas, fire, and arc so far are the only resistance ones. It would make heavy armour, especially with these arguably less useful perks, much more viable.

If the devs want to be realistic about anything, then all gas armors should protect you 100% from the gas because if the protective suits that we wore IRL were that faulty we'd be in fucking trouble. At the very least, give the heavy variant 100% protection. They can explain the other variants having less protection as them being rated for less exposure time if they really want to go that route. Hell, they could even say that, for the lighter variants, that they had to trade some combat capability for protection capabilities. It's not that hard to make this kind of change.
