Good to see John back on KZbin content and give a good point of view on what's going wrong with our transfer policy, which I think is absolutely spot on, its not that we don't want to spend, we just have the wrong transfer policy, wage structure and people who don't know how to break the whole transfer and club structure, short, medium and long term, therefor we need the right people in that can change that. Nice chat and analysis lads as always 👍 As for the squad yes simply too many that just can't cut it we know who they are apart from Iwata, M.Johnston and Holm possibly, but it's so obvious a quality LB,CB and Striker needed. Still hoping Idah deal will be done Hamish 😵‍💫 If we don't do something soon and strengthen with the 6-9 mil players not just to be unbeatable domestically but to sort this stagnent transfer issue at the club for improved CL performances particularly with the new CL structure, our coefficient will have us back to difficult 2-3 qualifiers and that includes the Europa League. Of course we need other Scottish teams to do something in Europe to help this sitaution.

Part if what is so frustrating is that if we would spend about £20M on a CB, striker, and LB we’d be probably be very competitive in the UCL. We are so close to making real progress at that stage. Especially with addition of Schmeichel. I agree with Nick that we could also use another winger and midfielder too, but I’d rather have quality at the 1st 3 positions if I had to choose.

The problem with the £10m signings is they want the money which corresponds to the fee. If you are paying a club £10m to acquire a player then that player's agent will demand a similar amount. £10m to a player looks like £2m a year over a 5 year deal is £38,000 a week - our maximum wage is £37,000 a week.
